Quantum fractal eigenstates [PDF]

open access: yesPhysica D: Nonlinear Phenomena, 1999
We study quantum chaos in open dynamical systems and show that it is characterized by quantum fractal eigenstates located on the underlying classical strange repeller. The states with longest life times typically reveal a scars structure on the classical fractal set.

Stiffness dependence of critical exponents of semiflexible polymer chains situated on two-dimensional compact fractals

open access: yes, 2009
We present an exact and Monte Carlo renormalization group (MCRG) study of semiflexible polymer chains on an infinite family of the plane-filling (PF) fractals. The fractals are compact, that is, their fractal dimension $d_f$ is equal to 2 for all members

High Energy Density Asymmetric Aqueous Supercapacitor Based on a 2D Manganese Carbide as a Positive Electrode

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A circular route, involving upcycling of waste surgical masks, affords a Mn‐based layered carbide with porosity, redox activity and low work function. These features enable its effective operation as positive supercapacitor electrode in an aqueous asymmetric supercapacitor delivering 213 Wh L−1 energy density.

Fractal percolations

open access: yesBanach Center Publications, 2018
One of the most well known random fractals is the so-called Fractal percolation set. This is defined as follows: we divide the unique cube in $\mathbb{R}^d$ into $M^d$ congruent sub-cubes. For each of these cubes a certain retention probability is assigned with which we retain the cube.

Comparative Study of Some Fixed-Point Methods in the Generation of Julia and Mandelbrot Sets

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2020
Fractal is a geometrical shape with property that each point of the shape represents the whole. Having this property, fractals procured the attention in computer graphics, engineering, biology, mathematics, physics, art, and design.

Water Permeates and Plasticizes Amorphous Carbon Dots: Unraveling the Inner Accessibility of the Nanoparticles by Glass Transition Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The water permeability of amorphous carbon dots (CDs) is demonstrated by investigating their plasticization. Novel polyamide‐based and amorphous nanoparticles are synthesized by controlling their inner packing density. Water plasticization is evidenced by the decrease of the CDs glass transition temperature with increasing the hydration degree.

Exact solution of mean geodesic distance for Vicsek fractals

open access: yes, 2008
The Vicsek fractals are one of the most interesting classes of fractals and the study of their structural properties is important. In this paper, the exact formula for the mean geodesic distance of Vicsek fractals is found.
