A comprehensive theoretical model for on-chip microring-based photonic fractional differentiators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Microring-based photonic fractional differentiators play an important role in the on-chip all-optical signal processing. Unfortunately, the previous works do not consider the time-reversal and the time delay characteristics of the microring-based ...

Adaptive Control of Milling Forces under Fractional Order Holds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This paper introduces a novel discrete-time modelreference based control of the tool-work-piece interaction force in a milling process. The novelty of the scheme relies on the use of a fractional order hold (FROH) instead of a traditional zero order hold

Solving the fractional order integro-differential equations using fractional Jacobi functions

open access: yesپژوهش‌های ریاضی, 2022
In this paper, we are intend to present a numerical algorithm for computing approximate solution of linear and nonlinear Fredholm, Volterra and Fredholm-Volterra  integro-differential equations. The approximated solution is written in terms of fractional

Jacobi Spectral Galerkin Method for Distributed-Order Fractional Rayleigh–Stokes Problem for a Generalized Second Grade Fluid

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2020
Distributed-order fractional differential operators provide a powerful tool for mathematical modeling of multiscale multiphysics processes, where the differential orders are distributed over a range of values rather than being just a fixed fraction.

Orthogonal Polynomials, Paraorthogonal Polynomials, and Point Perturbation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This thesis consists of three parts. Part 1 starts with an introduction to orthogonal polynomials, to be followed by some well-known theorems pertinent to the results we shall discuss.

Fractional-order Bessel functions with various applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
summary:We introduce fractional-order Bessel functions (FBFs) to obtain an approximate solution for various kinds of differential equations. Our main aim is to consider the new functions based on Bessel polynomials to the fractional calculus.

CSF Cytokine Network Organization Predicts Progression Independent of Relapse and MRI Activity in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Progression independent of relapse activity is a major determinant of long‐term disability in multiple sclerosis, but its immunopathologic basis remains incompletely understood. We investigated whether relapse‐independent progression in radiologically stable relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis is associated with distinct ...

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Tunable fractional-order photonic differentiator based on the inverse Raman scattering in a silicon microring resonator [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A novel photonic fractional-order temporal differentiator is proposed based on the inverse Raman scattering (IRS) in the side-coupled silicon microring resonator.

Symbolic Regression and Multi‐Objective Optimization of the Flory–Huggins Interaction Parameter for Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.
