Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Hilfer fractional differential inclusions with Erdélyi–Kober fractional integral boundary condition

open access: yes, 2021
In this article, we debate the existence of solutions for a nonlinear Hilfer fractional differential inclusion with nonlocal Erdélyi–Kober fractional integral boundary conditions (FIBC).

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Existence of Solutions and Ulam Stability for Caputo Type Sequential Fractional Differential Equations of Order α ∈ (2,3)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Analysis and Applications, 2017
We study initial value problems of sequential fractional differential equations and inclusions involving a Caputo type differential operator of the form: $\left(^{C}D_{a+}^{\alpha }+\lambda _{1}~^{C}D_{a+}^{\alpha -1}+\lambda _{2}~^{C}D_{a+}^{\alpha -2 ...

Non-linear temperature-dependent curvature of a Phase Change Composite Bimorph beam [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Bimorph films curl in response to temperature. The degree of curvature typically varies linearly with temperature and in proportion to the difference in thermal expansion of the individual layers.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Existence Results for Langevin Fractional Differential Inclusions Involving Two Fractional Orders with Four-Point Multiterm Fractional Integral Boundary Conditions

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2013
We discuss the existence of solutions for Langevin fractional differential inclusions involving two fractional orders with four-point multiterm fractional integral boundary conditions.

On a nonlinear fractional order differential inclusion

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2010
Summary: The existence of solutions for a nonlinear fractional order differential inclusion is investigated. Several results are obtained by using suitable fixed point theorems, when the right hand side has convex or non convex values.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...
