Algorithms for numerical solving of 2D anomalous diffusion problems

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2012
Fractional analog of the reaction diffusion equation is used to model the subdiffusion process. Diffusion equation with fractional Riemann–Liouville operator is analyzed in this paper.

Applications of the Fractional Calculus: On a Discretization of Fractional Diffusion Equation in One Dimension

open access: yesCommunications, 2010
The paper discusses the problem of classical and fractional diffusion models. It is known that the classical model fails in heterogeneous structures with locations where particles move at a large speed over a long distance.

On an explicit finite difference method for fractional diffusion equations

open access: yes, 2003
A numerical method to solve the fractional diffusion equation, which could also be easily extended to many other fractional dynamics equations, is considered.

Fractional diffusion equation and diffusive stresses [PDF]

open access: yesPAMM, 2007
AbstractA quasi‐static uncoupled theory of diffusive stresses based on the time‐fractional diffusion equation is considered. The Caputo fractional derivative of order α is used. In particular, the proposed theory interpolates the classical theory of diffusive stresses and that without energy dissipation.

Averaged Control for Fractional ODEs and Fractional Diffusion Equations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2018
We generalize results concerning averaged controllability on fractional type equations: system of fractional ODEs and the fractional diffusion equation. The proofs are accomplished by introducing appropriate Banach space in which we prove observability inequalities.

Levy Anomalous Diffusion and Fractional Fokker--Planck Equation

open access: yes, 2000
We demonstrate that the Fokker-Planck equation can be generalized into a 'Fractional Fokker-Planck' equation, i.e. an equation which includes fractional space differentiations, in order to encompass the wide class of anomalous diffusions due to a Levy ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Retarding Sub- and Accelerating Super-Diffusion Governed by Distributed Order Fractional Diffusion Equations

open access: yes, 2002
We propose diffusion-like equations with time and space fractional derivatives of the distributed order for the kinetic description of anomalous diffusion and relaxation phenomena, whose diffusion exponent varies with time and which, correspondingly, can

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
