Cauchy problem for fractional diffusion equations

open access: yesJournal of Differential Equations, 2004
We consider an evolution equation with the regularized fractional derivative of an order $ \in (0,1)$ with respect to the time variable, and a uniformly elliptic operator with variable coefficients acting in the spatial variables. Such equations describe diffusion on inhomogeneous fractals.

A Fractional Lie Group Method For Anomalous Diffusion Equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Lie group method provides an efficient tool to solve a differential equation. This paper suggests a fractional partner for fractional partial differential equations using a fractional characteristic method.

Time-space fabric underlying anomalous diffusion

open access: yes, 2005
This study unveils the time-space transforms underlying anomalous diffusion process. Based on this finding, we present the two hypotheses concerning the effect of fractal time-space fabric on physical behaviors and accordingly derive fractional quantum ...

Age‐Related Characteristics of SYT1‐Associated Neurodevelopmental Disorder

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives We describe the clinical manifestations and developmental abilities of individuals with SYT1‐associated neurodevelopmental disorder (Baker‐Gordon syndrome) from infancy to adulthood. We further describe the neuroradiological and electrophysiological characteristics of the condition at different ages, and explore the associations ...

Space-Time Fractional Reaction-Diffusion Equations Associated with a Generalized Riemann–Liouville Fractional Derivative

open access: yesAxioms, 2014
This paper deals with the investigation of the computational solutions of a unified fractional reaction-diffusion equation, which is obtained from the standard diffusion equation by replacing the time derivative of first order by the generalized Riemann ...

Development of a Prediction Model for Progression Risk in High‐Grade Gliomas Based on Habitat Radiomics and Pathomics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate the value of constructing models based on habitat radiomics and pathomics for predicting the risk of progression in high‐grade gliomas. Methods This study conducted a retrospective analysis of preoperative magnetic resonance (MR) images and pathological sections from 72 patients diagnosed with high‐grade gliomas (52 ...

Fractional Model for a Class of Diffusion-Reaction Equation Represented by the Fractional-Order Derivative

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2020
This paper proposes the analytical solution for a class of the fractional diffusion equation represented by the fractional-order derivative. We mainly use the Grunwald–Letnikov derivative in this paper.

Caputo Fractional Derivative and Quantum-Like Coherence

open access: yesEntropy, 2021
We study two forms of anomalous diffusion, one equivalent to replacing the ordinary time derivative of the standard diffusion equation with the Caputo fractional derivative, and the other equivalent to replacing the time independent diffusion coefficient

On Rosenau-Type Approximations to Fractional Diffusion Equations

open access: yes, 2014
Owing to the Rosenau argument in Physical Review A, 46 (1992), pag. 12-15, originally proposed to obtain a regularized version of the Chapman-Enskog expansion of hydrodynamics, we introduce a non-local linear kinetic equation which approximates a ...

Baseline Regional Cholinergic Denervation Predicts Cognitive Trajectories in Moderate Parkinson Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cognitive decline is a disabling and variable feature of Parkinson disease (PD). While cholinergic system degeneration is linked to cognitive impairments in PD, most prior research reported cross‐sectional associations. We aimed to fill this gap by investigating whether baseline regional cerebral vesicular acetylcholine transporter ...
