The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Existence and regularity of solutions to 1-D fractional order diffusion equations
In this article we investigate the existence and regularity of 1-D steady state fractional order diffusion equations. Two models are investigated: the Riemann-Liouville fractional diffusion equation, and the Riemann-Liouville-Caputo fractional ...

Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

An Investigation of Methanol Anomalous Diffusion in Mesoporous Silica
Methanol transport in mesoporous silica is investigated. It is demonstrated that usual approach based on the second Fick’s law fails describing the experimental kinetic data.

Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...

We consider the time-fractional derivative in the Caputo sense of order α∈(0, 1). Taking into account the asymptotic behavior and the existence of bounds for the Mainardi and the Wright function in R+, two different initial-boundary-value problems for ...

A combined finite element and phase‐field approach predicts the evolution of microstructure during the directional solidification of Ni‐based superalloys. The model reveals how withdrawal rate, temperature gradient, and wall thickness control the dendrite spacing, highlighting the strong effect of surface regions in thin sections where dendrite growth ...
