Interaction between serum FGF-23 and PTH in renal phosphate excretion, a case-control study in hypoparathyroid patients

open access: yesBMC Nephrology, 2020
Background phosphate homeostasis is mediated through complex counter regulatory feed-back balance between parathyroid hormone, FGF-23 and 1,25(OH)2D. Both parathyroid hormone and FGF-23 regulate proximal tubular phosphate excretion through signaling on ...

Evaluation of sodium and potassium excretion.

open access: yes, 2014
Data are reported as the means ± SEM. The number of animals is indicated in parentheses. OC refers to the offspring from the control mothers; OCSR, to the offspring from the chronically sleep restricted mothers; PNa, plasma sodium concentration; FENa ...

Comparison of fractional excretion and 24-hour urinary excretion of sodium and potassium in clinically normal cats and cats with induced chronic renal failure.

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Veterinary Research, 1991
The influence of induced chronic renal failure on 24-hour urinary excretion and fractional excretion of sodium and potassium was studied in cats. Induction of chronic renal failure significantly increased fractional excretion of potassium (P less than 0 ...

Relationship between proximal sodium reabsorption and excretion of calcium, magnesium and phosphate

open access: yes, 1973
Relationship between proximal sodium reabsorption and excretion of calcium, magnesium and phosphate. The relationship between sodium reabsorption by the proximal tubule, measured by micropuncture techniques, and the urinary excretion of calcium ...

Urinary NO3 excretion and renal failure in indinavir-treated patients

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2006
Treatment with indinavir (IDV), a protease inhibitor, is frequently associated with renal abnormalities. We determined the incidence of renal failure (creatinine clearance

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

A Kidney-Targeted Nanoparticle to Augment Renal Lymphatic Density Decreases Blood Pressure in Hypertensive Mice

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2021
Chronic interstitial inflammation and renal infiltration of activated immune cells play an integral role in hypertension. Lymphatics regulate inflammation through clearance of immune cells and excess interstitial fluid.

Association between sodium intake and urinary fractional albumin and immunoglobulin g excretion in chronic nondialytic renal disease: A prospective longitudinal study

open access: yes, 2019
Background/Aims: Previous studies reported that fractional clearance of urinary proteins is better than total proteinuria in predicting chronic kidney disease (CKD) progression.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Endogenous ANP augments fractional excretion of Pi, Ca, and Na in rats with reduced renal mass

open access: yes, 1988
Atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) infusion increases fractional excretion of many solutes including sodium, chloride, bicarbonate, phosphate, calcium, and magnesium.
