Inflammation in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease: From diagnosis to treatment

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Clinical Investigation, Volume 55, Issue 7, July 2025.
Inflammation in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Residual inflammatory risk (RIR), defined by high‐sensitive C‐reactive protein (hsCRP) concentration of ≥2 mg/L, represents a strong predictor of future atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) events. Although increased hsCRP values ≥2 mg/L might be detected in every three out of five ASCVD

White Matter Correlates of Psychopathic Traits in a Japanese Community Sample: Sex Matters!

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 62, Issue 1, July 2025.
This study examines associations between psychopathic traits and WM microstructure. Callous affect scores negatively correlate with WM integrity in the left cingulum. Sex moderates the association between psychopathic traits and WM integrity. Sex‐specific results offer new perspectives on psychopathy in non‐Western community samples.

Asymmetric Micro‐Evolutionary Responses in a Warming World: Heat‐Driven Adaptation Enhances Metal Tolerance in a Planktonic Rotifer, but Not Vice Versa

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 31, Issue 7, July 2025.
Rapid genetic adaptation is a potentially important mechanism by which natural populations can increase their tolerance to human‐induced environmental stressors. In our study, we demonstrated that zooplankton populations adapted to heat stress exhibited increased tolerance to copper toxicity.

Impact of Different Nitrogen Fertilizers on the Diversity and Abundance of Bacterial and Fungal Communities in Grassland Soils: The Emerging Case of Ammonium Sulfate and Sulfammox Process

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 17, Issue 7, July 2025.
Improving agricultural productivity to meet the growing food and feed demand via nitrogen fertilization comes with trade‐offs such as environmental pollution and biodiversity loss. In this study, we explored and compared the effect of repeated application of different chemical nitrogen fertilizers and biogas residues on the bacterial and fungal ...

Effect of Chemical Additives on Maize Silage Fermentation and Aerobic Stability and on Preference and Short‐Term Intake by Goats

open access: yesGrass and Forage Science, Volume 80, Issue 3, July-September 2025.
ABSTRACT This study determined the effects of a mixture of sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate (SBPS; 2 L/t fresh matter (FM)) and a formic acid‐based mixture (FASF; 3 L/t FM) on maize silage fermentation, aerobic stability, and short‐term feed intake by goats. Whole‐crop maize harvested at 280 g/kg dry matter (DM) was untreated (CON) or treated with
