Optimal fractional factorial designs and their construction

Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference, 2013
Abstract Optimal symmetrical fractional factorial designs with n runs and m factors of s levels each are constructed. We consider only designs such that no two factors are aliases. The minimum moment aberration criterion proposed by Xu (2003) is used to judge the optimality of the designs.

FRACTIONAL FACTORIAL DESIGN AND ORTHOGONAL ARRAYS

, 2019
This study aims to conduct statistical analysis of various types of FRACTIONAL FACTORIAL DESIGN (orthogonal arrays), comparisons between various types of orthogonal arrays with and without replication for the determination of the precision with which ...

Fractional Factorial Designs

2016
In the two-level experiment with k input factors, there are 2 k possible runs. For k = 3, there are only eight runs. But even with five factors, 25 = 32 runs may be prohibitively expensive and time consuming. The question is whether it is possible to use some subset of all possible runs and still be able to fit a first order polynomial approximation to

On Construction of Odd-fractional Factorial Designs [PDF]

open access: possibleJournal of Statistics Applications & Probability, 2012
Fractional designs involve selection from a given set of experimental treatments as subset of treatments to make- up a specified design measure that has such statistical properties as balance, high relative efficiency, D-optimality etc. For decades statisticians have relied on the use Defining Contracts (DC), and Latin Squares (LS) to construct ...

Fractional factorial design based microwave-assisted extraction for the determination of organophosphorus and organochlorine residues in tobacco by using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.

Journal of Separation Science, 2017
Sample preparation is often the main bottleneck in analyzing biological samples. Particularly, effective evaluation of sample preparation conditions usually involves multiple factors and tedious and time-consuming experiments.

On the problem of augmented fractional factorial designs

Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 1982
Let D be a saturated fractional factorial design of the general K1 x K2 ...x Kt factorial such that it consists of m distinct treatment combinations and it is capable of providing an unbiased estimator of a subvector of m factorial parameters under the assumption that the remaining k-m,t (k = H it ) factorial parameters are negligible.

D-optimal fractional factorial designs

Statistics & Probability Letters, 1998
Abstract In this paper, we investigate a model which contains all the main effects and all the two-factor interactions with the most important factor. We shall show that Mitchell's rules are no longer applicable in many cases and we shall present a general procedure to find D-optimal designs.

Fractional factorial design for energy systems

Applied Energy, 1994
Abstract Nowadays, when powerful computers are on almost every one's desk, it has become more and more common to use complex energy-system models in order to predict the use of electricity and heat in buildings. At the same time, it has been harder to grasp the overall solution because of all the details implemented in such a model.

On Two Products of Fractional Factorial Designs

Calcutta Statistical Association Bulletin, 1989
Analysis of direct product (DP) of a number of fractional factorial designs (unblocked) has been presented in brief to show that the estimates of the parameters of the new design can be expressed as a suitable (asterisk) product of the estimates of the parameters of the component designs.
