Blood pressure effects of SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP‐1 receptor agonists: Mechanisms, trial evidence and Real‐world data

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP‐1 receptor agonists modestly lower blood pressure across diverse patient populations, including those without diabetes. These effects appear largely independent of glycaemic control and offer additive value in high‐risk patients with overlapping comorbidities.

Paediatric development of radiopharmaceutical imaging agents and radioligand therapeutics

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract This review focuses on the development of radiopharmaceutical imaging agents and radioligand therapeutics for paediatric use. Nuclear medicine plays an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of various childhood conditions, including cancers, infections and brain disorders.

Real‐World Outcomes of FFRangio‐Guided Treatment for Coronary Artery Disease in Acute Versus Chronic Coronary Syndromes

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease
Background The use of angiogram‐based fractional flow reserve technologies in routine clinical practice is increasing steadily. Available data suggest that it is associated with comparable clinical outcomes compared with wire‐based fractional flow ...

Coronary flow reserve calculated from pressure measurements in humans : Validation with positron emission tomography

open access: yes, 1994
Background Experimental studies have shown that fractional flow reserve (defined as the ratio of maximal achievable flow in a stenotic area to normal maximal achievable flow) can be calculated from coronary pressure measurements only.

Patients on statins with elevated transaminases: Frequency of follow‐up creatine kinase testing and gastroenterology referral

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To quantify how often creatine kinase (CK) is measured after newly elevated aminotransferases in statin users, and whether absent CK data are associated with gastroenterology (GI) referrals. Methods Retrospective chart review of adult outpatients on statins with a first alanine/aspartate aminotransferase (ALT/AST) elevation during a 5 ...

The Value of Optical Coherence Tomography Parameters in Estimating Non-Critical Lesions in Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Emergencies
Coronary artery disease (CAD) remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Accurate assessment of coronary lesion severity is essential for guiding revascularization.

Performance of computed tomography-derived fractional flow reserve using reduced-order modelling and static computed tomography stress myocardial perfusion imaging for detection of haemodynamically significant coronary stenosis

open access: yesEuropean Heart Journal-Cardiovascular Imaging, 2018
Aims To compare the diagnostic performance of a reduced-order computed tomography-derived fractional flow reserve (CT-FFR) technique derived from luminal deformation and static CT stress myocardial perfusion (CTP).

Transfersomes with core and surface‐loaded NF‐κB p65 siRNA for enhanced transdermal transfection and effective treatment of psoriasis

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
TCPL, a transfersome with Tween 80 and PEI, enables efficient transdermal siNF‐κB delivery, resolving PEI's toxicity issue. It promotes lysosomal escape and effective transfection, silences NF‐κB, modulates immunity, and inhibits angiogenesis, alleviating psoriasis. With good biocompatibility, TCPL holds strong clinical translation potential. Schematic

Clinical and Physiological Predictors of Acetylcholine‐Induced Coronary Spasm in ANOCA/INOCA Patients: A Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background A substantial proportion of patients with angina and/or ischemia are found to have non‐obstructive coronary arteries (ANOCA/INOCA). Their symptoms can sometimes be explained by coronary microvascular dysfunction and/or vasospasm. Selecting patients for acetylcholine testing remains challenging, and the procedure is not trivial in ...

Unveiling the Microvasculature: The Index of Microcirculatory Resistance and Its Expanding Role in Cardiovascular Care

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Index of microcirculatory resistance (IMR) is a cutting‐edge, wire‐based tool that advances the capability assessment of coronary microvascular function. By utilizing distal coronary pressure and mean transit time under maximal hyperemia, IMR delivers consistent, reproducible insights into the microvasculature's dynamic health.
