Control and Robust Stabilization at Unstable Equilibrium by Fractional Controller for Magnetic Levitation Systems

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2021
The problem of control and stabilizing inherently non-linear and unstable magnetic levitation (Maglev) systems with uncertain equilibrium states has been studied.

Implementing Discrete-time Fractional-order Controllers [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Computational Intelligence and Intelligent Informatics, 2001
The theory of fractional calculus goes back to the beginning of the theory of differential calculus but its inherent complexity postponed the application of the associated concepts. In the last decade the progress in the areas of chaos and fractals revealed subtle relationships with the fractional calculus leading to an increasing interest in the ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Generalization of Reset Controllers to Fractional Orders

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
Reset control is a simple non-linear control technique that can help overcome the structural limitations of linear control. Fractional control uses the concept of fractional derivatives to expand the range of possibilities when modeling a controller ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Experimental validation of fractional order internal model controller design on buck and boost converter

open access: yesMeasurement + Control, 2021
In this paper, fractional order internal model control technique is formulated for non-ideal dc–dc buck and boost converter. The fractional order internal model control approach integrates the concept of Commande Robuste d’Ordre Non Entier principle for ...

Time-Delay Fractional Variable Order Adaptive Synchronization and Anti-Synchronization between Chen and Lorenz Chaotic Systems Using Fractional Order PID Control

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2022
In this research work, time-delay adaptive synchronization and adaptive anti-synchronization of chaotic fractional order systems are analyzed via the Caputo fractional derivative, and the prob-lem of synchronization and anti-synchronization of chaotic ...

Fractional conservation laws in optimal control theory

open access: yes, 2007
Using the recent formulation of Noether's theorem for the problems of the calculus of variations with fractional derivatives, the Lagrange multiplier technique, and the fractional Euler-Lagrange equations, we prove a Noether-like theorem to the more ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...
