Fractional Charge States in the Magneto-Photoluminescence Spectra of Single-Electron InP/GaInP2 Quantum Dots

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2021
We used photoluminescence spectra of single electron quasi-two-dimensional InP/GaInP2 islands having Wigner-Seitz radius ~4 to measure the magnetic-field dispersion of the lowest s, p, and d single-particle states in the range 0–10 T.

The fractional chromatic number of triangle-free subcubic graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Heckman and Thomas conjectured that the fractional chromatic number of any triangle-free subcubic graph is at most 14 / 5. Improving on estimates of Hatami and Zhu and of Lu and Peng, we prove that the fractional chromatic number of any triangle-free ...

Optical Detection of Fractional Particle Number in an Atomic Fermi-Dirac Gas

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2003
We study theoretically a Fermi-Dirac atomic gas in a one-dimensional optical lattice coupled to a coherent electromagnetic field with a topologically nontrivial soliton phase profile. We argue that the resulting fractional eigenvalues of the particle number operator can be detected via light scattering.

Time Fractional Schrodinger Equation Revisited

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2013
The time fractional Schrodinger equation (TFSE) for a nonrelativistic particle is derived on the basis of the Feynman path integral method by extending it initially to the case of a “free particle” obeying fractional dynamics, obtained by replacing the ...

An investigation into the fertilizer particle dynamics off-the-disc [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The particle size range specifications for two biosolids-derived organomineral fertilizers (OMF) known as OMF10 (10:4:4) and OMF15 (15:4:4) were established.

Explaining global surface aerosol number concentrations in terms of primary emissions and particle formation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We synthesised observations of total particle number (CN) concentration from 36 sites around the world. We found that annual mean CN concentrations are typically 300–2000 cm -3 in the marine boundary layer and free troposphere (FT) and 1000–10 000 cm -3 ...

Parameter Estimation for the One-Term (Multiterm) Fractional-Order SEIAR Models of Norovirus Outbreak

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2021
In the paper, we use the Caputo fractional derivative to consider general single-term and multiterm fractional-order SEIAR models for the outbreak of Norovirus.

Interaction among particles with fractionalized quantum numbers in one dimensional samples

open access: yesProceedings of the International School of Physics “Enrico Fermi”, 2003
The elementary excitations of strongly correlated one-dimensional electronic systems - spinons and holons - are discussed in an exact solution of the Haldane-Shastry and Kuramoto-Yokoyama model. We derive and exactly solve the equation of motion both for the two-spinon wavefunction and for the one-spinon, one-holon wavefunction.

Design of a Nonlinear Fractional Order PID Neural Controller for Mobile Robot based on Particle Swarm Optimization [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2016
The goal of this paper is to design a proposed non-linear fractional order proportional-integral-derivativeneural (NFOPIDN) controller by modifying and improving the performance of fractional order PID (FOPID) controller through employing the theory of ...

Maximizing the Chaotic Behavior of Fractional Order Chen System by Evolutionary Algorithms

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
This paper presents the application of three optimization algorithms to increase the chaotic behavior of the fractional order chaotic Chen system. This is achieved by optimizing the maximum Lyapunov exponent (MLE). The applied optimization techniques are
