A note on fracture criteria for interface fracture
International Journal of Fracture, 2000Several criteria for interface fracture are examined and compared to test results obtained from glass/epoxy specimens. These include two energy release rate criteria, a critical hoop stress criterion and a critical shear stress criterion. In addition, approximate plastic zone size and shape within the epoxy are determined for these tests.

Criteria for Failure and Fracture
2020Structural members may have geometric features (including holes, notches, and corners) that result in localized regions of high stress called stress concentrations. The ratio C of the maximum stress resulting from a stress concentration to a defined nominal stress is called the stress concentration factor.

The impact of subtrochanteric fracture criteria on hip fracture classification
Osteoporosis International, 2011Hospital diagnosis codes are useful for assessing hip fracture rates in large populations. However, these codes do not reliably differentiate hip fractures that occur in the subtrochanteric region. Identification of subtrochanteric fractures requires review of radiographic images to distinguish these fractures from the more commonly occurring ...

Stability Criteria for Nonoperative Ankle Fracture Management
Foot & Ankle International, 2011Background: This study was designed to see if stability based criteria are useful in choosing between nonoperative and operative treatment of ankle fractures. Materials and Methods: One hundred sixty ankle fractures in skeletally mature patients were retrospectively analyzed to obtain an epidemiological profile in a population of about 130,000.
