The Role of Coordination Mechanisms and Transaction Costs Promoting Sustainability Performance in Agri‐Food Supply Chains: Evidence From Ecuador

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Social tensions and resource depletion pose significant challenges to the agri‐food sector, highlighting the need for coordinated strategies to ensure sustainability in supply chains. Despite its critical importance, the relationship between coordination mechanisms and sustainability performance remains underexplored.

Risk of osteoporosis in testicular germ cell tumour survivors: A systematic review of the literature

open access: yesBJUI Compass, Volume 4, Issue 1, Page 24-43, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Context Testicular germ cell tumour (TGCT) survivors are potentially at risk of developing osteoporosis, because of increased risk for disturbed bone remodelling associated with hypogonadism and anti‐cancer treatment. A number of studies show bone loss and increased fracture risk in TGCT survivors, but data are scarce.

Osteopenic occult vertebral fracture is associated with poor oncological outcome in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma after hepatic resection

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Osteopenic occult vertebral fracture (OVF) was associated with poor long‐term outcomes in patients with HCC after hepatic resection. Osteopenic OVF had a poorer prognosis than that of patients with either osteopenia or OVF. Abstract Background Although osteopenia has been associated with poor outcomes in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC ...

Prognostic Impact of Bone Mineral Density Reduction During Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy (NAC) in Patients Undergoing NAC Followed by Esophagectomy for Esophageal Cancer

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
The association between BMD reduction during NAC and the worse prognosis remains unknown, although NAC followed by esophagectomy is a standard treatment for advanced ESCC. This study appeared that BMD massive reduction was an independent prognostic factor on OS (HR, 3.30; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.69–6.55) and RFS (HR, 2.08; 95% CI, 1.19–3.63 ...

Relationship Between Kyphosis and Postoperative Gastroesophageal Reflux After Proximal Gastrectomy

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
This study examined the relationship between kyphosis and postoperative gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) after proximal gastrectomy using a kyphosis definition that is familiar to surgeons for preoperative assessment. Multivariate analysis revealed that kyphosis is an independent risk factor for GERD after proximal gastrectomy.

Understanding Design Fixation in Generative AI [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Generative AI (GenAI) provides new opportunities for creativity support, but the phenomenon of GenAI design fixation remains underexplored. While human design fixation typically constrains ideas to familiar or existing solutions, our findings reveal that GenAI similarly experience design fixation, limiting its ability to generate novel and diverse ...
