Geology of the Rokko Tunnel with reference to fracture pattern
The Rokko Tunnel built up in April 1967 is 2843m in length and combines Kobe with the Sanda basin in lesser distance. During its construction, geological survey with datailed mapping in scale of 1/100 was attempted and the results are summarized as follows:The wall of the tunnel consists of the quartz diorite, granite and rarely lithoidite.

Introduction: geology of fractured reservoirs
The characterization of fractured reservoirs and fractured geothermal resources requires a thorough understanding of the geological processes involved during fracturing and the rheological properties of the host rock. The presence or absence of mechanical layering within the rock and the mode of failure substantially control the organization and ...

Quantitative determination of fault slip magnitude: a review
In geology, a fault is a rock fracture with perceptible relative displacement of the opposite sides of the fracture. Quantitatively obtaining the activity history of faults depends mainly on the estimation of fault slip and the study of markers, which ...

Implications of heterogeneous fracture distribution on reservoir quality; an analogue from the Torridon Group sandstone, Moine Thrust Belt, NW Scotland [PDF]
This research was funded by a NERC CASE studentship (NERC code NE/I018166/1) in partnership with Midland Valley. Midland Valley's Move software was used for cross section construction and strain modelling.

Asymmetric continental deformation during South Atlantic rifting along southern Brazil and Namibia [PDF]
Plate restoration of South America and Africa to their pre-breakup position faces the problem of gaps and overlaps between the continents, an issue commonly solved with implementing intra-plate deformation zones within South America.
