Covalently‐Bonded Diaphite Nanoplatelet with Engineered Electronic Properties of Diamond

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel approach to engineering the electronic properties of diamond is reported on the diaphite nanoplatelet consisting of (11¯${{\bar{1}}}$1) planes of diamond nanoplatelet covalently bonded with graphite (0001) planes. The strong sp3/sp2‐hybridized interfacial covalent bonding induces the electron transfer from diamond to graphite, resulting in a ...

2H‐Au Nanosheet‐Templated Growth of PdFe for Electrocatalytic Methanol Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
2H‐to‐face‐centered cubic (fcc) phase transformation of 2H‐Au happens when PdFe alloy epitaxially grows on 2H‐Au nanosheets (NSs), forming 2H/fcc Au@PdFe NSs, and the 2H/fcc phase ratio in 2H/fcc Au@PdFe NSs can be tuned correspondingly by changing the Pd/Fe atomic ratio.

Damage and Healing in Fatigue Fracture [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
We present an experimental and theoretical study of the fatigue failure of asphalt under cyclic compression. Varying the load amplitude, experiments reveal a finite fatigue limit below which the specimen does not break, while approaching the tensile strength of the material a rapid failure occurs.
