The Interpretation of Experimental Observation Data for the Development of Mechanisms based Creep Damage Constitutive Equations for High Chromium Steel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
It is very important to design a safe factor or estimating the remain lifetime for electric power plant components of steam pipes which mostly manufacture by high chromium steels and work at high temperature and low stress level.

Fracture mechanics principles

open access: yesDental Materials, 1995
The principles of linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM) were developed in the 1950s by George Irwin (1957). This work was based on previous investigations of Griffith (1920) and Orowan (1944). Irwin (1957) demonstrated that a crack shape in a particular location with respect to the loading geometry had a stress intensity associated with it.

On the Simultaneous Improving of Strength and Elongation in Dual Phase Steels via Cold Rolling

open access: yesMetals, 2020
The ferrite-pearlite microstructure was cold-rolled to form dual phase (DP) steels, the percentage reduction of which varied. To do so, the steels were annealed in two steps and then the workpiece underwent water quenching.

Average crack-front velocity during subcritical fracture propagation in a heterogeneous medium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We study the average velocity of crack fronts during stable interfacial fracture experiments in a heterogeneous quasibrittle material under constant loading rates and during long relaxation tests. The transparency of the material (polymethylmethacrylate)

A Numerical Study on the Crack Propagation of Homogenized Micro-Crack Crushing for Concrete Pavement

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Homogenized micro-crack crushing is a new method of concrete pavement rehabilitation that makes full use of the bearing capacity of the original concrete pavement, whereby the treated pavement can be directly overlaid with hot mixed asphalt concrete.

Fracture Toughness of Silicate Glasses: Insights from Molecular Dynamics Simulations

open access: yes, 2015
Understanding, predicting and eventually improving the resistance to fracture of silicate materials is of primary importance to design new glasses that would be tougher, while retaining their transparency. However, the atomic mechanism of the fracture in
