FRACTURE RESISTANCE ANALYSIS OF PEEK-POLYMER
PEEK is a thermoplastic polymer with halfcrystallic structure – the scientific name of this material is poly(oxy- 1,4-phenylene-oxy-1,4-phenylenecarbonyl-1,4-phenylene). It has a high melt and glass transition temperatures (Tm = 340 oC, Tg = 143 oC), high chemical resistance and is melt processable.

Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing

Exploring the impact of remaining tooth structure and preparation size on the fracture resistance of endodontically treated mandibular premolars [PDF]
Background. This study evaluated the influence of the combined effects of remaining dentin walls and mechanical instrumentation with taper sizes of 0.04 and 0.06 on the fracture resistance of endodontically treated mandibular premolars. Methods.

A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Buoyancy-driven crack propagation: the limit of large fracture toughness [PDF]
We study steady vertical propagation of a crack filled with buoyant viscous fluid through an elastic solid with large effective fracture toughness. For a crack fed by a constant flux Q, a non-dimensional fracture toughness K=Kc/(3μQm3/2)1/4 describes the
