ABSTRACT The cave of Les Pradelles (Marillac‐le‐Franc, France) was repeatedly visited by Neandertals ~55 000 years ago and is a key site in discussions of Neandertal cannibalism. Excavations between 1967 and 1980 (Vandermeersch) and between 2001 and 2013 (Maureille/Mann) produced a rich faunal assemblage (>20 000 bones), alongside Quina Mousterian ...

Abstract BACKGROUND Pomegranate peel is a rich source of phenolics, particularly punicalagin, but its valorization for fresh produce preservation requires stabilization. This study aimed to develop and evaluate freeze‐dried encapsulates of pomegranate peel extracts as ingredients in edible coatings for fresh‐cut celery. Pomegranate peels were extracted

Hydraulic Brittle Fracture in a Rock Mass
Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering, 2021This paper presents a novel method on the hydraulic brittle fracture propagation in a rock mass forced by high-frequency fluctuating pressures due to the turbulence phenomena that occur in unlined dissipation structures and spillways. This type of brittle fracture analysis allows the risk assessment related to the design of unlined emergency spillways ...

Elastic moduli for fractured rock mass
Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering, 1995The presence of joint discontinuities has long been recognized as an important factor influencing the mechanical behavior of rock masses. This paper proposes a stress-strain model for an assemblage of intact rock blocks separated by joint planes. The stress-strain relationship accounts for spacings and orientations of the joint sets.
