Smart Denture with Embedded Thin‐Film Temperature Sensors Patterned by Femtosecond Laser Pulse for Elderly Healthcare

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
We demonstrate the direct‐laser patterning of a gold thin film on polymethyl methacrylate to fabricate a temperature sensor for dentures. The temperature sensor‐embedded smart dentures are evaluated in an oral environment, enabling in‐situ monitoring for elderly healthcare.

The role of fracture in dynamic tensile responses of fractured rock mass: Insight from a particle-based model

open access: yesInternational Journal of Coal Science & Technology
The fractured rock mass inherently exhibits uncertainty due to the presence of pre-existing discontinuities. In this study, a particle-based model incorporating the discrete fracture network (DFN) to elucidate the dynamic tensile responses and associated

Synergistic Effect on Enhanced Oil Recovery in High Salinity Carbonate Reservoirs Using a Novel PEI‐Functionalized Carbon Nanotube Nanocomposite

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Enhancing oil recovery (EOR) in mature reservoirs is hindered by high interfacial tension (IFT) and oil‐wet rock formations, especially under harsh, high‐salinity conditions. This study aims to overcome these limitations by synthesizing a novel carbon nanotube nanocomposite covalently grafted with polyethylenimine and non‐covalently ...

Calculation of Blasting Damage Zone Radius of Different Charge Structures in Burnt Rock

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The radius of the failure area after a blasting fracture process of burnt rock is affected by joint fissures, does not conform to the existing theoretical calculation formula and the distribution law of the failure area also changes. The fracture area is

Valorization of Post‐Consumer Waste From Metallized Flexible Packaging and Industrial EPM Waste: Development of Sustainable Composites

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Post‐consumer metallized flexible packaging waste and industrial EPM waste are transformed into sustainable composites through mechanical recycling. The incorporation of 30 wt% EPM provides the most favorable balance between stiffness, ductility, and impact resistance, achieving 53.36 kJ/m2.

Frost-heaving pressure in geotechnical engineering materials during freezing process

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mining Science and Technology, 2018
Energy and resources including coal, oil, and gas are in demand all over the world. Because these resources near the earth’s surface have been exploited for many years, the extraction depth has increased.

Effect of nonlinear seepage on flow and heat transfer process of fractured rocks

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2020
A numerical model for nonlinear flow and heat transfer in a fractured rock mass is proposed. First, the Forchheimer equation and the Reynolds equation are coupled to obtain the nonlinear seepage control equation, then combined with the heat transfer ...

Revisiting paravertebral muscles in European rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) and European brown hares (Lepus europaeus) (Leporidae; Lagomorpha)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Domesticated European rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) have long been chosen as laboratory model organisms. Despite this, there has been no definitive study of the vertebral musculature of wild rabbits. Relevant descriptions of well‐studied veterinary model mammals (such as dogs) are generally applicable, but not appropriate for a species ...
