Selection of Optimal Vector-Valued Intensity Measures for Seismic Fragility Analysis in Shield Tunnels Based on LSTM Neural Networks

open access: yesBuildings
This research introduces a novel approach for seismic fragility assessment by employing a long short-term memory (LSTM) neural network to identify the most effective scalar and vector intensity measures (IMs). This approach enables the rapid and accurate

Relationship Between Neurologic Symptoms and Signs and FMR1 Genotype in Premutation Carriers

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Fragile X‐associated Tremor/Ataxia Syndrome (FXTAS) is the most severe late‐onset condition caused by a premutation in the FMR1 gene, characterized by expanded CGG triplet repeats of 55–200. Clinical presentations of FXTAS, including gait ataxia, kinetic tremor, cognitive decline, and rare Parkinsonism, are linked to ...

Models of Financial System Fragility [PDF]

open access: yes
This survey analyses two types of models: 1. Models based on assumptions of monetary and financial market equilibrium disturbance, in line with mainstream thinking according to which if there is a self-regulating market the units would have rational ...

Risk of Non‐Arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy in Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension Patients Treated with GLP‐1 Receptor Agonists

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1 RAs) have demonstrated significant weight‐reducing effects and may offer benefits in idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH); however, recent concerns about the risk of non‐arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) have emerged.

Statistical Analysis of Fragility Curves

open access: yes, 2003
This report applies both empirical and analytical fragility curves to present methods of bridge fragility curve development. The empirical data utilizes damage obtained from past earthquakes including Northridge and Kobe; analytical samples use ...

Recurrent Hypothermia and Autonomic Dysfunction Secondary to Shapiro Syndrome

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A 44‐year‐old man presented with recurrent hypothermia, diaphoresis and hypertension. Extensive investigation for infectious, inflammatory, metabolic and endocrine aetiologies was negative. MR scan of the brain demonstrated no lesions but revealed callosal dysgenesis, consistent with Shapiro syndrome.

State-dependent seismic fragility via pushover analysis

open access: yes, 2020
Earthquakes are clustered in space and time. This means that structures in seismically active regions can be subjected to multiple consecutive instances of base acceleration, with insufficient in-between time for repair operations to take place.

Interaction of Intraprocedural Antiplatelets and Intravenous Thrombolysis in Acute Intracranial Stenting: RESISTANT Registry Subanalysis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction/Objective Acute intracranial stenting during endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) for ischemic stroke requires intraprocedural antiplatelet therapy (APT) to maintain patency. However, the hemorrhagic risk of combining APT with intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) remains uncertain.
