Mechanisms in Impact Fragmentation [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Fracture 154 (1-2/2009) pp 105-117, 2015
The brittle fragmentation of spheres is studied numerically by a 3D Discrete Element Model. Large scale computer simulations are performed with models that consist of agglomerates of many spherical particles, interconnected by beam-truss elements. We focus on a detailed description of the fragmentation process and study several fragmentation mechanisms

Determination of ADP/ATP translocase isoform ratios in malignancy and cellular senescence

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The individual functions of three isoforms exchanging ADP and ATP (ADP/ATP translocases; ANTs) on the mitochondrial membrane remain unclear. We developed a method for quantitatively differentiating highly similar human ANT1, ANT2, and ANT3 using parallel reaction monitoring. This method allowed us to assess changes in translocase levels during cellular

Landscape of BRAF transcript variants in human cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We investigate the annotation of BRAF variants, focusing on protein‐coding BRAF‐220 (formerly BRAF‐reference) and BRAF‐204 (BRAF‐X1). The IsoWorm pipeline allows us to quantify these variants in human cancer, starting from RNA‐sequencing data. BRAF‐204 is more abundant than BRAF‐220 and impacts patient survival.

Combinatorial metaheuristic methods to optimize the scheduling of scientific workflows in green DVFS-enabled edge-cloud computing

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal
A significant challenge in high-performance computing is to ensure the even distribution of applications across computational resources, preventing issues such as resource fragmentation and network congestion.

Interpolation and the Array Property Fragment [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Interpolation based software model checkers have been successfully employed to automatically prove programs correct. Their power comes from interpolating SMT solvers that check the feasibility of potential counterexamples and compute candidate invariants, otherwise.

Comprehensive omics‐based classification system in adult patients with B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The COMBAT classification system, developed through multi‐omics integration, stratifies adult patients with B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia(B‐ALL) into three molecular subtypes with distinct surface antigen patterns, immune landscape, methylation patterns, biological pathways and prognosis.
