Single-Frame, Multiple-Frame and Framing Motifs in Genes [PDF]

open access: yesLife, 2019
We study the distribution of new classes of motifs in genes, a research field that has not been investigated to date. A single-frame motif SF has no trinucleotide in reading frame (frame 0) that occurs in a shifted frame (frame 1 or 2), e.g., the dicodon AAACAA is S F as the trinucleotides AAA and CAA do not occur in a shifted frame.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

∗-K-Operator Frame for Hom∗A(X)

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Mathematical Analysis, 2021
In this work, we introduce the concept of ∗-K-operator frames in Hilbert pro-C∗-modules, which is a generalization of K-operator frame. We present the analysis operator, the synthesis operator and the frame operator.

Epigenetic Control of Gene Expression in the Normal and Malignant Human Prostate:A Rapid Response Which Promotes Therapeutic Resistance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
A successful prostate cancer must be capable of changing its phenotype in response to a variety of microenvironmental influences, such as adaptation to treatment or successful proliferation at a particular metastatic site.

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Effect of fly ash-lime treatment on the acute toxicity of greywater towards Daphnia magna

open access: yesNova Biotechnologica et Chimica, 2019
Acute toxicity of raw and treated greywater towards Daphnia magna was assessed in this study. Treatment was performed with exposure of greywater to the fly-lime mixture After 48 h of exposure, 100 % mortality of D.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Blazars define a stable celestial reference frame

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
Context. Recent work has shown that optical-radio position offsets and radio position variability are inversely correlated with the optical photometric variability of active galactic nuclei (AGN).
