Influence of Ground Motion Non-Gaussianity on Seismic Performance of Buildings
The non-Gaussian feature of seismic ground motion has been reported in some works. However, there remains a lack of research on the influence of the ground motion non-Gaussianity on the seismic performance of buildings, which motivates this study.

The chameleonic behaviour of the String theory dilaton is suggested. Some of the possible consequences of the chameleonic string dilaton are analyzed in detail. In particular, (1) we suggest a new stringy solution to the cosmological constant problem and

Kaluza-Klein bundles and manifolds of exceptional holonomy [PDF]
We show how in the presence of RR two-form field strength the conditions for preserving supersymmetry on six- and seven-dimensional manifolds lead to certain generalizations of monopole equations.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Stress-oriented structural optimization for frame structures [PDF]
Abstract To fabricate a virtual shape into the real world, the physical strength of the shape is an important consideration. We introduce a framework to consider both the strength and complexity of 3D frame structures. The key to the framework is a stress-oriented analysis and a semi-continuous condition in the shape representation that can both ...

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
