Brassinosteroid responses in motion: dynamics of brassinosteroid hormone and receptors shape signaling and tissue establishment

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 126, Issue 4, May 2026.
SUMMARY Bioactive molecules such as hormones play crucial roles throughout the life cycle of organisms. Due to their profound effects, these molecules are tightly regulated at multiple levels, including biosynthesis, storage, transport, modification, and signaling.

CLE peptides in plant‐biotic interactions

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 250, Issue 2, Page 805-811, April 2026.
Summary Plant‐biotic interactions are driven by the exchange of molecules. Small peptide hormones like CLAVATA3/EMBRYO SURROUNDING REGION (CLE) peptides play central regulatory roles in these interactions. CLEs determine the extent of symbiotic interaction to balance costs and benefits for the host.

Romance Loans in Middle Dutch and Middle English: Retained or Lost? A Matter of Metre1

open access: yesTransactions of the Philological Society, Volume 124, Issue 1, Page 1-28, March 2026.
Abstract Romance words have been borrowed into all medieval West‐Germanic languages. Modern cognates show that the metrical patterns of loans can differ although the Germanic words remain constant: loan words Dutch kolónie, English cólony, German Koloníe compared with Germanic words Dutch wéduwe, English wídow, German Wítwe.

open access: yesDve Domovini, 2006
Zadnji dve stoletji Združene države Amerike vzbujajo zanimanje s svojo prisotnostjo in drugačnostjo v svetu. Mnogi slovenski popotniki so jo obiskali in o njej poročali preko knjig, med njimi tudi Božidar Jakac s knjigo Odmevi rdeče zemlje, ki jo je po ...

Sclerified Cork Outperforms the Exodermis: Root Water Permeability Decreases in the Soil‐To‐Canopy Transition of the Aroid Vine Epipremnum aureum

open access: yesPhysiologia Plantarum, Volume 178, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
ABSTRACT The aroid vine Epipremnum aureum undergoes changes in habitat and growth axis direction from terrestrial (plagiotropic) to canopy (orthotropic) conditions. Since aerial roots connected to the forest soil are vital for water and nutrient uptake in these vines, we hypothesize that morphophysiological acclimation occurs, enabling root survival ...
