Ball convergence for Traub-Steffensen like methods in Banach space
We present a local convergence analysis for two Traub-Steffensen-like methods in order to approximate a locally unique solution of an equation in a Banach space setting. In earlier studies such as [16, 23] Taylor expansions and hypotheses up to the third

On optimal polyline simplification using the Hausdorff and Fréchet distance
We revisit the classical polygonal line simplification problem and study it using the Hausdorff distance and Fréchet distance. Interestingly, no previous authors studied line simplification under these measures in its pure form, namely: for a given ε ...

Authoring Terrestrial Planets with Diffusion Models
Abstract To support the design and subsequent generation of terrestrial planets for use in the creative media, we propose a solution that employs a generative model trained on satellite data from planetary bodies with a defined solid surface, such as the Earth and Mars.

Supremum norm differentiability
The points of Gateaux and Fréchet differentiability of the norm in C(T,E) are obtained, where T is a locally compact Hausdorff space and E is a real Banach space.

Quantitative Metrics for Edge Bundling of Network Visualizations
Abstract Edge bundling is widely used for reducing visual clutter in large 2D network and trajectory visualizations. Various edge bundling methods have been proposed, each producing qualitatively distinct outputs for the same data; however, few quantitative metrics exist for systematic evaluation. In this paper, we propose a set of quantitative metrics

Let Y be a uniformly convex multi-Banach space which has not a Frechet differentiable norm. We use the technique of product net to obtain the nonlinear ergodic theorems in Y.

A Simple Grid‐Maps Pipeline: Restructured, Accelerated and Upgraded
Abstract Grid maps – spatially arranged small multiples – are a powerful tool to show complex geospatial data. Meulemans et al. (2020) introduced a pipeline for computing high‐quality grid maps that are shaped roughly according to their containing geographic outlines.

Several Inequalities of Frechet Spaces
Several inequalities of Frechet spaces are given in this paper, which can be regarded as the Frechet spaces versions of the well-known polarization identity occurring in Hilbert spaces. Our results generalize many inequalities in Banach spaces.
