On Fredholm Properties of Operator Products

Mathematical Proceedings of the Royal Irish Academy, 2003
An operator \(A\) acting on a Banach space \(X\) is called generalised Fredholm operator if there exists an operator \(S\) on \(X\) such that \(ASA=A\) and \(I-SA-AS\) is a Fredholm operator. These operators have been studied by the author in several previous papers.

Closed Range Property for Holomorphic Semi-Fredholm Functions

Integral Equations and Operator Theory, 2010
Let \(X\) and \(Y\) be given complex Banach spaces and \(D\) be an open domain in \(\mathbb C^n\). The class \({\mathcal O}(D,{\mathcal L}(X,Y))\) denotes the set of operator-valued analytic maps from \(X\) to \(Y\); namely, if \(\alpha\in{\mathcal O}(D,{\mathcal L}(X,Y))\), then \(\alpha(z):X\to Y\) is a linear map between \(X\) and \(Y\).

Fredholm Property of the Operator AR

1993
We obtain the closedness of the realization A R , an explicit formula for the adjoint boundary value problem, the standard Fredholm properties of A R , and various relations between its index and the indices of the related mapping pair and boundary integral in the general (global elliptic) case as well as in the local elliptic case.

Pseudodifferential Operators and Their Fredholm Properties

2010
Pseudodifferential operators are a natural extension of linear integral and partial differential operators. The theory of such operators grew out of the study of singular integral operators by Giraud, Mikhlin, Calderon and Zygmund, among others. It developed rapidly after 1965 with the systematic studies of Kohn and Nirenberg [114], Hormander, and ...

Fredholm properties of multivariate refinement equations

Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, 2007
AbstractThe solvability of multivariate refinement equations in the Hilbert space L2(ℝs) is studied. It is shown that the set of all L2‐solutions of such equations either consists of the trivial solution only or it contains a subspace isomorphic to a space L∞(SM) where SM is a subset of ℝs with a positive Lebesgue measure.

On Fredholm Properties of a Class of Hankel Operators

Mathematische Nachrichten, 2000
The authors study Fredholm properties of operators of the form \[ K_{a}\varphi=\lambda\varphi-P_{+}aP_{-}Q\varphi\tag{1} \] in weighted \(L_{p}\)-space on the real axis, where \(P_{\pm}=1/2(I\pm S)\), \(S\) is the standard operator of singular integration, \(a\) is a piecewise continuous function and \((Q\varphi)(x)=\varphi(-x)\).
