SATURATED FREE ALGEBRAS REVISITED [PDF]

open access: yesThe Bulletin of Symbolic Logic, 2015
AbstractWe give an exposition of results of Baldwin–Shelah [2] on saturated free algebras, at the level of generality of complete first order theoriesTwith a saturated modelMwhich is in the algebraic closure of an indiscernible set. We then make some new observations whenM isa saturated free algebra, analogous to (more difficult) results for the free ...

Mechanoadaptation via Myosin Cytoplasmic Redistribution Protects Circulating Tumor Cells From Shear‐induced Death During Hematogenous Dissemination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates how CTCs survive varying shear stress during hematogenous metastasis. We uncover a self‐protection mechanism, by which non‐adherent CTCs adapt to high shearing milieu through accumulated cytoplasmic myosin‐mediated disruption of myosin‐actin binding, attenuating force transmission into chromatin to protect CTCs from shear ...

Twin TQFTs and Frobenius Algebras

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2013
We introduce the category of singular 2-dimensional cobordisms and show that it admits a completely algebraic description as the free symmetric monoidal category on a twin Frobenius algebra, by providing a description of this category in terms of ...

U(h)-Free Modules over the Lie Algebras of Differential Operators

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
This paper mainly considers a class of non-weight modules over the Lie algebra of the Weyl type. First, we construct the U(h)-free modules of rank one over the differential operator algebra.

Concurrent Terahertz Spin Excitations and Phase Shift Control in Fe4Nb2O9: A Material for Synergizing Computation and Communication Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional terahertz (THz) platform is demonstrated, in a model material Fe4Nb2O9, exhibiting a large intrinsic THz phase shift alongside distinct THz magnon excitations in its antiferromagnetic phase. This coexistence of phase modulation and spin dynamics offers a promising pathway toward integrated THz communication and magnonic computation ...

On the dimension of the product $[L_2,L_2,L_1]$‎ in free Lie algebras [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Group Theory, 2018
Let $L$ be a free Lie algebra of rank $rgeq2$ over a field $F$ and let $L_n$ denote the degree $n$ homogeneous component of $L$‎. ‎By using the dimensions of the corresponding homogeneous and fine homogeneous components of the second derived ideal of ...

On the polynomial identities of the algebra $M_{11}(E)$

open access: yes, 2013
Verbally prime algebras are important in PI theory. They were described by Kemer over a field $K$ of characteristic zero: 0 and $K$ (the trivial ones), $M_n(K)$, $M_n(E)$, $M_{ab}(E)$.

Updatable Closed‐Form Evaluation of Arbitrarily Complex Multiport Network Connections

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The inverse design of electrically large wave devices often uses reduced‐order multiport models with discrete optimization, requiring many evaluations of complex interconnections between subsystems that differ only in a few blocks. This paper introduces a closed‐form framework enabling efficient Woodbury low‐rank updates of related, previous ...

Composition-Diamond Lemma for Non-associative Algebras over a Commutative Algebra [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We establish the Composition-Diamond lemma for non-associative algebras over a free commutative algebra. As an application, we prove that every countably generated non-associative algebra over an arbitrary commutative algebra $K$ can be embedded into a ...

Capacitive versus Faradaic Microelectrodes for Extracellular Stimulation: A Fully Coupled FEM–Hodgkin–Huxley Study of Thresholds and Current Redistribution

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A fully coupled FEM–HH model shows that ideally capacitive microelectrodes can achieve lower charge‐density thresholds than Faradaic contacts under current‐controlled stimulation. The advantage stems from the dynamics of surface current density on capacitive interfaces, which redirects current beneath adherent neurons.
