Bases as Coalgebras [PDF]

open access: yesLogical Methods in Computer Science, 2013
The free algebra adjunction, between the category of algebras of a monad and the underlying category, induces a comonad on the category of algebras. The coalgebras of this comonad are the topic of study in this paper (following earlier work).

Free Semigroupoid Algebras

open access: yes, 2003
Every countable directed graph generates a Fock space Hilbert space and a family of partial isometries. These operators also arise from the left regular representations of free semigroupoids derived from directed graphs. We develop a structure theory for the weak operator topology closed algebras generated by these representations, which we call free ...

The relative dihedral homology of involutive algebras

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1999
Let f:A→B be a homomorphism of involutive algebras A,B. The purpose of this paper is to define a free involutive algebra resolution of algebra B over f and use it to define and study the relative dihedral homology.

Overcoming the Nyquist Limit in Molecular Hyperspectral Imaging by Reinforcement Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Explorative spectral acquisition guide automatically selects informative spectral bands to optimize downstream tasks, outperforming full‐spectrum acquisition. The selected hyperspectral data are used for tasks such as unmixing and segmentation. BandOptiNet encodes selection states and outputs optimal bands to guide spectral acquisition. Recent advances

On free Lie algebras and particles in electro-magnetic fields

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
The Poincaré algebra can be extended (non-centrally) to the Maxwell algebra and beyond. These extensions are relevant for describing particle dynamics in electromagnetic backgrounds and possibly including the backreaction due the presence of multipoles ...

Gauge-invariant theories and higher-degree forms

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
A free differential algebra is generalization of a Lie algebra in which the mathematical structure is extended by including of new Maurer-Cartan equations for higher-degree differential forms.

Deep Learning Approaches for Classifying Crack States With Overload and Predicting Fatigue Parameters in a Titanium Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study proposes a deep learning approach to evaluate the fatigue crack behavior in metals under overload conditions. Using digital image correlation to capture the strain near crack tips, convolutional neural networks classify crack states as normal, overload, or recovery, and accurately predict fatigue parameters.

Robotic Arm‐Assisted Conformal 3D Printing of Displays for Structural Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study presents a robotics‐enabled platform combining 3D scanning and a 6‐DOF robotic arm for conformal printing on complex non‐planar structures. By maintaining nozzle perpendicularity, the system enables high‐fidelity direct ink writing on steep sidewalls, spherical surfaces, successfully demonstrating a fully printed 7‐segment dynamic display ...

A Soft Robotic Jellyfish with Decoupled Actuators for Agile 3D Locomotion

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study presents a soft robotic jellyfish featuring a functionally decoupled actuation architecture. By separating propulsion, steering, and vertical regulation into independent modules, the robot overcomes conventional coupled‐motion limitations. Utilizing a passive‐valve‐based differential drag strategy and lateral water jets, it achieves agile 3D
