On a Casson Fluid Motion: Nonuniform Width Symmetric Channel and Peristaltic Flows
Widely used for modeling biological fluids flows—in particular, blood vessel flows—a Casson flow is studied in a symmetric channel for which the aspect ratio enables one to use the lubrication approximation.

Crack Propagation as a Free Boundary Problem [PDF]
A newly developed sharp interface model describes crack propagation by a phase transition process. We solve this free boundary problem numerically and obtain steady state solutions with a self-consistently selected propagation velocity and shape of the crack, provided that elastodynamic effects are taken into account.

Regularity of the free boundary in the one-phase Stefan problem: a recent approach
In this note, we discuss about the regularity of the free boundary for the solutions of the one-phase Stefan problem. We start by recalling the classical results achieved by I. Athanasopoulos, L. Caffarelli, and S.

Schrödinger-type identity for Schrödinger free boundary problems
Our aim in this paper is to develop a Schrödinger-type identity for a Schrödinger free boundary problem in Rn $\mathbb{R}^{n}$. As an application, we establish necessary and sufficient conditions for the product of some distributional functions to ...

A remark on memory effects in constrained fluid systems [PDF]
The goal of this note is to put into perspective the recent results obtained on memory effects in partially congested fluid systems of Euler or Navier-Stokes type with former studies on free boundary obstacle problems and Hele-Shaw equations.

Some Free Boundary Problems Arising in Rock Mechanics
В этой статье мы рассматриваем несколько физических процессов в механике горных пород, которые описываются задачами со свободной границей. Некоторые из них известны (задачи Муската), другие совершенно новые (подземное выщелачивание и динамика трещин в ...

Free boundary problems in biology [PDF]
In this paper, I review several free boundary problems that arise in the mathematical modelling of biological processes. The biological topics are quite diverse: cancer, wound healing, biofilms, granulomas and atherosclerosis. For each of these topics, I describe the biological background and the mathematical model, and then proceed to state ...
