A Gas-Solid Free Boundary Problem for a Compressible Viscous Gas
SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 2003A one-dimensional free-boundary problem is formulated to describe a phase transition of solid into compressible viscous gas with a prescribed density jump at the phase transition line. Initial data are found to permit global existence of solutions which are close to a combination of traveling and rarefaction waves.

Understanding the gas migration mechanism is of vital significance to predict gas production from Coal-Bed Methane (CBM) wellbores. At present, the widely used Fick’s law of diffusion in coal matrix has been questioned by more and more researchers.

We applied automated velocity analysis to a 3D seismic data volume to obtain a high-resolution seismic velocity model that we used to investigate the influence of fluid behavior on the subsurface distribution of gas in the Sanriku-Oki forearc basin ...

We present an application of Constrained Amplitude versus Offset (AVO) inversion for 2-D modelling of gas hydrates and free gas saturation in the Mahanadi offshore basin. In order to reliably model gas hydrate distribution, it is essential to derive both
