κ-Poincaré invariant orientable field theories at one-loop
We consider a family of κ-Poincaré invariant scalar field theories on 4-d κ-Minkowski space with quartic orientable interaction, that is for which ϕ and its conjugate ϕ † alternate in the quartic interaction, and whose kinetic operator is the square of a

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Morava 𝐾-theory and the free loop space
We generalize a result of Hopkins, Kuhn, and Ravenel relating the n n th Morava K K -theory of the free loop space of a classifying space of a finite group to the ( n + 1 )

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

A solar storm observed from the Sun to Venus using the STEREO, Venus Express, and MESSENGER spacecraft [PDF]
The suite of SECCHI optical imaging instruments on the STEREO-A spacecraft is used to track a solar storm, consisting of several coronal mass ejections (CMEs) and other coronal loops, as it propagates from the Sun into the heliosphere during May 2007 ...

Spontaneous quantization of the Yang–Mills gradient flow
We formulate a nonsingular loop–space calculus for the Yang–Mills (YM) gradient flow directly in terms of Wilson loop functionals, rather than the underlying gauge fields.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Free loop space homology of highly connected manifolds
We calculate the homology of the free loop space of (n - 1)-connected closed manifolds of dimension at most 3 n - 2 (n >= 2), with the Chas-Sullivan loop product and loop bracket. Over a field of characteristic zero, we obtain an expression for the BV-
