Free vibrations of nonlocally elastic rods [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Several of the Eringen’s nonlocal stress models, including two-phase and purely nonlocal integral models, along with the simplified differential model, are studied in case of free longitudinal vibrations of a nanorod, for various types of boundary ...

A Lumped-Parameter Model for Nonlinear Waves in Graphene [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A lumped-parameter nonlinear spring-mass model which takes into account the third-order elastic stiffness constant is considered for modeling the free and forced axial vibrations of a graphene sheet with one fixed end and one free end with a mass ...

Faraday instability on viscous ferrofluids in a horizontal magnetic field: Oblique rolls of arbitrary orientation

open access: yes, 2002
A linear stability analysis of the free surface of a horizontally unbounded ferrofluid layer of arbitrary depth subjected to vertical vibrations and a horizontal magnetic field is performed.

VIBRATION FREE 4.5 K SORPTION COOLER [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2008
At the University of Twente, a breadboard 4.5 K sorption cooler was developed under ESA contract. It has no moving parts and, therefore, is essentially vibration-free. Moreover, it has the potential of a very long life. This cooler is a favorite option for missions such as ESA's Darwin mission, which is a future space interferometer consisting of a few

Natural Frequencies of Rectangular Laminated Plates—Introduction to Optimal Design in Aeroelastic Problems

open access: yesAerospace, 2018
Free vibration (or eigenvalue analysis) is a prerequisite for aeroelastic analysis. For divergence analysis, slope influence coefficients (rotation at point i due to unit load at point j) are calculated using free vibration mode shapes and corresponding ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Refined 2D and Exact 3D Shell Models for the Free Vibration Analysis of Single- and Double-Walled Carbon Nanotubes

open access: yesTechnologies, 2015
The present paper talks about the free vibration analysis of simply supported Single- and Double-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (SWCNTs and DWCNTs). Refined 2D Generalized Differential Quadrature (GDQ) shell methods and an exact 3D shell model are compared.

Free vibration of axially loaded thin-walled composite Timoshenko beams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Based on shear-deformable beam theory, free vibration of thin-walled composite Timoshenko beams with arbitrary layups under a constant axial force is presented.
