Numerical analysis of the scale effect of the nominal wake field of KCS
In order to study the scale effect of the nominal wake field, the viscous flow field of KCS is studied without considering the free surface effect, and the nominal wake fields of KCS at different scales including full scale are solved numerically using ...

Numerical Simulation of the Maneuvering Motion Wake of an Underwater Vehicle in Stratified Fluid
When a vehicle moves underwater, disturbance is generated and a wake remains that destroys the original free surface and produces a new wake. In order to study the mechanism and characteristics of the wave-making wake generated by the maneuvering motion ...

ABSTRACT Background and Purpose White matter hyperintensities (WMH) are a core neuroimaging marker of cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD). Sleep apnoea (SA) is a recognized vascular risk factor, but its associations with regional WMH burden, short‐interval WMH change and cognitive performance in population‐based cohorts remain incompletely defined. We

Effects of diffraction in regular head waves on added resistance and wake using CFD
This paper employs computational tools to investigate the diffraction effects in regular head waves on the added resistance and wake on the propeller plane. The objective ships are a 66,000 DWT bulk carrier and a 3,600 TEU container ship.

Dynamic wind farm flow control using free-vortex wake models [PDF]
A novel dynamic economic model-predictive control strategy is presented that improves wind farm power production and reduces the additional demands of wake steering on yaw actuation when compared to an industry state-of-the-art reference controller.

Nondestructive Testing of Welded Composite Metal Foams
X‐ray computed tomography (CT) is used to evaluate welded steel–steel composite metal foam (CMF) joints of two density classes. It reports variation in postweld spatial void distribution and correlates it to weld‐induced changes, mechanical performance, and failure within welded CMF panels.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.
