Anisotropic community turn‐over at habitat edges informs on assembly drivers: simulation and empirical test on soil macrofauna

open access: yesOikos, Volume 2026, Issue 5, May 2026.
Biodiversity dynamics in heterogeneous landscapes is the result of a complex interplay between movement processes of organisms within and between habitat patches, and niche filtering processes due to spatially varying environmental conditions. Disentangling the relative influences of these different processes on community assembly and dynamics is a ...

Simulation of land use evolution by discrete events method: Application to “la chaîne des puys” from XV to XVIII Century

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 1998
By using a discrete event method, simulation of land use evolution has been applied to a landscape model of “la ChaÎne des Puys” (French Massif Central) during along period (XV–XVIII centuries). The indications concerning the evolution of land use are in

Le bloc-diagramme : une clé de compréhension des représentations du paysage chez les agriculteurs ? Mise au point d’une méthode d’enquête préalable à une gestion concertée du paysage en Artense (Massif central français)

open access: yesCybergeo, 2000
3D diagrams that sum up the different kinds of landscape of the middle mountain plateau of Artense (French Massif Central) have been used to analyze landscape opinion of 5 farmers living in this area.

Stability in tapia woodlands amid non‐native expansion: Integrating traditional ecological knowledge and remote sensing to track 73 years of tree cover in Madagascar

open access: yesPeople and Nature, Volume 8, Issue 5, Page 1403-1418, May 2026.
Abstract Afromontane ecosystems, characterised by mosaics of fire‐adapted grassy ecosystems and fire‐sensitive forests, are biodiversity hotspots facing escalating pressures from non‐native species, climate and land‐use change. Madagascar's Central Highlands is one such hotspot, hosting woodlands dominated by endemic Uapaca bojeri (tapia) which are ...

Study geomorphology, past and present, linear trench, tectonics relationship between Pyrenees and Alps [PDF]

open access: yes
The author has identified the following significant results. ERTS-1 images obviously show up some large linear features trending N 80 E or N 30 E common to both Alps and Pyrenees. One of them, the Ligurian Fault, had been previously forecast by Laubscher

Block‐in‐Matrix Deformation and Veining in Alpine Subducted Oceanic Metasediments at Blueschist Facies Conditions

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract In subduction zones, the locked seismogenic zone is bordered by an upper and a lower transition zone. In these transition zones, deformation is primarily accommodated by an interplay of diffuse viscous deformation within a weak matrix and brittle deformation in stiffer bands and blocks.

Garnet–Clinopyroxene Double‐Layered Coronae in a Metagabbronorite From the High‐Grade Metamorphic Gföhl Unit, Moldanubian Zone

open access: yesJournal of Metamorphic Geology, Volume 44, Issue 4, Page 311-336, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This study investigates garnet–clinopyroxene double‐layered coronae in a metagabbronorite from the high‐grade metamorphic Gföhl Unit (Bohemian Massif). The coronae formed at the interfaces between relic magmatic orthopyroxene, still preserved in the cores of the coronae, and the plagioclase‐rich rock matrix.
