Equalization algorithms in the frequency domain for continuous phase modulations
GLOBECOM '05. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2005., 2005In this paper, novel equalization algorithms for continuous phase modulations (CPMs) are illustrated. Both conventional (linear and decision-feedback) and turbo equalization techniques are derived using the Laurent decomposition of CPM signals. All of them operate in the frequency domain and process two samples of the received signal per channel symbol.

Virtual Receive Antenna System with Frequency Domain Equalization
2007 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference, 2007Vertical Bell Laboratory Layered Space-Time (V-BLAST) is one of the promising multiple input multiple output (MlMO) architectures. Layered space time processing in V-BLAST requires the number of receive antennas to be equal to or larger than the number of transmit antennas.

Blind MIMO Equalization in the Frequency Domain
2005 Australian Communications Theory Workshop, 2006Broadband wireless systems require low complexity equalizers which can cope with long channel impulse responses and severe intersymbol interference (ISI). In this paper, a frequency domain (FD) approach for adaptive blind equalization for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication systems is proposed.

Frequency-Domain MMSE Channel Estimation for Frequency-Domain Equalization of DS-CDMA Signals
IEICE Transactions on Communications, 2007Frequency-domain equalization (FDE) based on minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion can replace the conventional rake combining to significantly improve the bit error rate (BER) performance in a frequency-selective fading channel. MMSE-FDE requires an accurate estimate of the channel transfer function and the signal-to-noise power ratio (SNR ...

On frequency-domain equalization for FBMC-PAM communication systems
2017 International Symposium on Wireless Communication Systems (ISWCS), 2017Among the filter bank multicarrier techniques for efficient transmission in communication systems, the recently proposed FBMC-PAM transceiver exhibits many advantages in comparison with the OFDM system; in particular, it does not require a cyclic prefix and, in the asynchronous multi-user context, it provides a high level of spectral separation among ...

Adaptive Frequency-Domain Equalization with Narrowband Interference Suppression
Wireless Personal Communications, 2012Frequency-domain equalization (FDE) is an effective technique that exhibits the property of relatively low complexity which grows with increasing the number of symbols of dispersion in multipath propagation environments for broadband wireless communications compared with the conventional time-domain equalization.

Time- or frequency-domain equalization for wideband OFDM channels?
2012 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2012OFDM suffers from inter-carrier interferences in the presence of the time variation. This paper seeks to quantify the amount of interferences resulting from wideband channels which assumed to follow the multi-scale/multi-lag (MSML) model. Due to the fact that the mobility in wideband channels induces scale effects, Doppler is revealed in a manner ...

A CMA equalization system in frequency domain
2010 IEEE 12th International Conference on Communication Technology, 2010CMA is an important equalization algorithm. CMA equalization in frequency domain is also worth studying. According to the work before, CMA was always used in the time domain but never in the frequency domain, because CMA requires that the input signal has a constant modulus feature, which is easy to achieve in the time domain but difficult in the ...

Frequency-Domain Equalization of Faster-than-Nyquist Signaling
IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, 2013In this letter, motivated by the recent rediscovery of faster-than-Nyquist (FTN) signaling transmissions, we conceive a frequency-domain equalization (FDE)-assisted FTN receiver architecture, which is capable of attaining a low demodulating complexity. The proposed scheme is especially beneficial for a long channel tap FTN scenario.

Gated-CDMA: Frequency-Domain Equalization for CDMA Systems
IEICE Transactions on Communications, 2005While CDMA systems are proven to be excellent solutions for cellular communications, they suffer from severe multi-path interferences and are hard to support high-data-rate transmissions over frequency-selective fading channels. This letter introduces a novel downlink transmission method for next generation mobile communication systems.
