Targeting p38α in cancer: challenges, opportunities, and emerging strategies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
p38α normally regulates cellular stress responses and homeostasis and suppresses malignant transformation. In cancer, however, p38α is co‐opted to drive context‐dependent proliferation and dissemination. p38α also supports key functions in cells of the tumor microenvironment, including fibroblasts, myeloid cells, and T lymphocytes.

A temperature compensation method of measuring frequency for cylindrical vibratory gyroscope in frequency split trimming

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
In the process of frequency split trimming, the fluctuation of environmental temperature causes a deviation in measuring the natural frequency, which is bigger than the request trimming accuracy.

Seismic attenuation compensation with spectral-shaping regularization

open access: yesEarth and Planetary Physics, 2022
Because of the viscoelasticity of the subsurface medium, seismic waves will inherently attenuate during propagation, which lowers the resolution of the acquired seismic records.

On Preparing Entangled Pairs of Polarization Qubits in the Frequency Non-Degenerate Regime

open access: yes, 2010
The problems associated with practical implementation of the scheme proposed for preparation of arbitrary states of polarization ququarts based on biphotons are discussed. The influence of frequency dispersion effects are considered, and the necessity of

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Ground Reaction Force Frequency Content During Gait in the Elderly: Falling and Foot Dominance Effects

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering
The elderly population is experiencing a significant increase, which has led to a substantial rise in the rate of falls among them. These falls have serious consequences for their health.

Research on ultraprecision turning and profile-error compensation technology for multi-axis linkage [PDF]

open access: yesNanotechnology and Precision Engineering
In an ultraprecision turning process for small-diameter optical aspheric workpieces, tool-profile errors induce mid-frequency errors in the workpiece profile, limiting further improvements in precision.

Spontaneous spectral phase conjugation for coincident frequency entanglement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Spontaneous parametric processes pumped transversely with short pulses are studied under a unified framework, which proves that such processes can efficiently generate entangled photon pairs with time anticorrelation and frequency correlation ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.
