Supplementary frequency control in power systems via decentralised V2G/G2V support
One of the smartest evolution in the electrical power system is the integration of various renewable sources. It is an effective way to cater consumers growing power demands. The intermittency issues in renewable sources may lead to generation and demand

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Adaptive Control of VSG Inertia Damping Based on MADDPG
As renewable energy sources become more integrated into the power grid, traditional virtual synchronous generator (VSG) control strategies have become inadequate for the current low-damping, low-inertia power systems. Therefore, this paper proposes a VSG

Provision of Ancillary Services with Variable Speed Wind Turbines [PDF]
In recent years, the amount of wind turbines in the power system has increased tremendously. As the current wind turbines do not participate in the provision of ancillary services such as frequency control and voltage control, this may compromise the ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Fast Frequency Control Strategy Based on Worst-Case Network Attack Perception
A fast frequency control (FFC) strategy using the proximal policy optimization based on worst-case network attack perception (worst-case PPO) algorithm is proposed to address the complexity of fast frequency control in power systems and the risks posed ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Consensus-Based Load Frequency Control of a Multi-Area Power System
The integration of renewable energy sources into modern power grids presents challenges for load frequency control (LFC) due to the increased system dynamics and uncertainties introduced by variable generation sources. Traditional LFC methods are limited
