Single-carrier frequency domain equalization

IEEE Signal Processing Magazine, 2008
This paper present an alternative promising approach to ISI mitigation by the use of single-carrier (SC) modulation combined with frequency-domain equalization (FDE).

Block Channel Equalization in the Frequency Domain

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2005
In this paper, channel equalization algorithms processing two samples of the received signal per channel symbol and operating in the frequency domain are described in a unifying framework. First, minimum mean-square error linear and decision-feedback equalizers are derived, and a synthesis technique based on the well-known Levinson-Durbin algorithm is ...

Single-Carrier Frequency-Domain Equalization Based on Frequency-Domain Oversampling

IEEE Communications Letters, 2012
A technique based on the frequency-domain oversampling in Single-Carrier Frequency-Domain Equalization is proposed. Simulation results show that the proposed system based on frequency domain oversampling outperforms the conventional system in static frequency-selective channel.

Channel estimation for adaptive frequency-domain equalization

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2005
Frequency-domain equalization (FDE) is an effective technique for high-rate wireless communications because of its reduced complexity compared to conventional time-domain equalization (TDE). In this paper, we consider adaptive FDE for single-carrier (SC) systems with explicit channel and noise-power estimation.

Frequency-domain equalization for continuous phase modulation

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2005
Single-carrier frequency-domain equalization (SC-FDE) is proposed for continuous phase modulation (CPM). Two different discrete representations of the CPM signal are obtained. One is an orthogonal representation obtained from the Gram-Schmidt orthonormalization procedure, and the other is obtained from Laurent's decomposition for binary CPM.

Design and verification of a frequency domain equalizer

Microelectronics Journal, 2014
In this work we provide a methodology for the design and verification of a frequency domain equalizer. The performance analysis of the equalizer is conducted using two methods: simulation based verification in Simulink and System Generator and theorem proving techniques in Higher Order Logic.

Block equalization techniques in the frequency domain

2004 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (IEEE Cat. No.04TH8733), 2004
In this work various channel equalization algorithms operating in the frequency domain are described in a unifying framework. First, minimum mean square error linear and decision-feedback equalizers are derived and a synthesis technique based on the well-known Levinson-Durbin algorithm is proposed for the latter.

Applying frequency domain equalization to precoded CPM

2008 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, 2008
We show how to apply frequency domain equalization (FDE) to precoded continuous phase modulation (CPM) systems. It is well known that differential precoding can be applied to the specific, popular class of CPM schemes with modulation index h = 1/2Q, where Q is any integer.
