Robust frequency estimation

International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2003
A robust estimation method for frequencies of received signals is investigated. The received signals are represented as the sum of sinusoidal signals and an additive noise process. The additive noise is assumed to be a mixture of a Gaussian and an outlier process.

Estimating Word-Association Frequencies

Psychological Reports, 1968
14 Ss were given the 6 strongest associates to stimulus words chosen from the Kent-Rosanoff list and asked to estimate the frequency with which each associate occurred. The results indicate a striking tendency for Ss to match the obtained norms throughout the portions of the hierarchy tested.

Bayesian Frequency Estimation

2019 18th European Control Conference (ECC), 2019
In the literature, the problem of frequency estimation is usually cast in a nonlinear parametric fashion. We show in this paper that it can also be formulated in a Bayesian nonparametric framework by assigning a uniform a priori probability distribution to the unknown frequency.

Robust frequency estimation

2012 13th International Radar Symposium, 2012
The procedure of censored harmonic signal frequency estimates based on a posteriori SNR, is proposed and investigated. The criterion of effectiveness takes into account the probability and cost parameters of the events of uncontrolled failure and controlled loss of frequency estimates is suggested.

On Kay's Frequency Estimator

Journal of Time Series Analysis, 2000
Kay has proposed a technique for estimating the frequency of a complex sinusoid in additive noise, the real and imaginary parts of which are independent and normally distributed with means zero and the same variance. For fixed sample size the estimator achieves the Cramer–Rao lower bound for unbiased estimators of the frequency in the limit as the ...

Fundamental Frequency Estimation

1976
The fundamental frequency (F0) is a basic parameter in acoustical studies of speech. It is also a necessary parameter for low bit rate speech coding systems. It is generally considered to be one of the acoustical correlates to the perceived intonation pattern of speech.

Estimation of myriad haplotype frequencies

Genetic Epidemiology, 1985
AbstractThe present paper demonstrates algorithms for applying gene counting estimation of haplotype frequencies in very large genetic systems. A factor union representation of phenotypes is used which conveniently yields the sets of potential haplotypes and diplotypes for each phenotype.

Perceptual Frames in Frequency Estimation

Psychological Reports, 2014
This study is an introductory investigation of cognitive frames, focused on perceptual frames divided into information and formal perceptual frames, which were studied based on sub-additivity of frequency estimations. It was postulated that different presentations of a response scale would result in different percentage estimates of time spent ...

Comparison of nonparametric frequency estimators

2010 IEEE Instrumentation & Measurement Technology Conference Proceedings, 2010
This paper deals with the performance of several up-to-date nonparametric frequency estimators. The algorithms of frequency estimation are introduced and their bias, standard deviation and consumption time are compared with regard to the most common signal parameters.
