Context Effects in the Judgment of Visual Relative-Frequency: Trial-by-Trial Adaptation and Non-linear Sequential Effect

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2018
Humans' judgment of relative-frequency, similar to their use of probability in decision-making, is often distorted as an inverted-S-shape curve—small relative-frequency overestimated and large relative-frequency underestimated.

Method of estimation of frequency variation relying on estimation of shift of spectral peaks

open access: yesСистемный анализ и прикладная информатика, 2021
Problem of estimation of variated frequency of components of polyharmonic signals has been arose. Three-dimensional time-frequency representation of signals is usually used to resolve this problem.

Overview of Open-Loop Frequency Estimation Techniques for Grid Synchronization of Single-Phase Power Converters

open access: yesENP Engineering Science Journal
Open-loop synchronization techniques allow to overcome the stability issues to which closed-loop techniques are subject. Most open-loop techniques differ in their Quadratic Signal Generator and their frequency estimation method.

Ubiquitous log odds: a common representation of probability and frequency distortion in perception, action and cognition

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2012
In decision from experience, the source of probability information affects how probability is distorted in the decision task. Understanding how and why probability is distorted is a key issue in understanding the peculiar character of experience-based ...

Three‐phase algorithm for independent single‐phase grid frequency estimation under grid disturbances

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2023
This paper reports an algorithm for quick and precise estimation of the single‐phase grid frequency under DC offset and both odd and even harmonics. The proposed single‐phase grid frequency estimation method is derived from a three‐phase relation.

On frequency estimation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This paper discusses a least-squares procedure and the use of the periodogram for isolating a discrete harmonic of a time series. It is shown that the usual asymptotics on estimation of frequency, amplitude and phase of such a harmonic have to be used with great caution from a moderate sample perspective.
