The role of frequency hopping in today's digital communications

1988 IEEE 5th International Symposium on Spread Spectrum Techniques and Applications - Proceedings. Spread Technology to Africa (Cat. No.98TH8333), 2002
We investigate the capacity of an OOK FH CDMA channel. We assume random FH codes and that the i-th receiver is only interested in the message transmitted by the i-th transmitter. The degradation of the AWGN and non-selective Rayleigh fading environments on the FH system are also investigated. We then give an algebraic construction of a new family of FH

Uplink timing detection for frequency hopping communication

MILCOM 1999. IEEE Military Communications. Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.99CH36341), 2003
In this paper we consider the problem of detecting an uplink time probe of a frequency hopping communication system with uplink partial processing employing symmetric differential phase shift keying (SDPSK) signaling. Analytical and simulation results on the probability of detection error for a probe signal received over multiple hop durations in noise

Synchronization Design of Frequency-Hopping Communication System

2018 2nd IEEE Advanced Information Management,Communicates,Electronic and Automation Control Conference (IMCEC), 2018
Frequency hopping is one of the most classic examples of spread-spectrum communications. This paper is about the study of the strategy of the synchronous process. Modern frequency hopping systems generally use the sliding correlation scheme and the matched filter scheme which have the best anti-jamming performance.

Frequency-hopping communication with physical-layer chaos encryption

Optics Letters
We propose and numerically demonstrate a scheme that integrates frequency-hopping (FH) communication with physical-layer chaos encryption. In this scheme, chaos synchronization between twin semiconductor lasers driven by a common digital signal is utilized to generate synchronous chaos after optoelectronic conversion and post-processing.

Laboratory model communication systems with a frequency hopping

2017 4th International Scientific-Practical Conference Problems of Infocommunications. Science and Technology (PIC S&T), 2017
In this article the main principles of building radiostation with frequency hopping spread spectrum are described. This problem is relevant because of modern powerful facilities for electronic intelligence and jamming. The laboratory model of the modern frequency hopping spread spectrum radiostation with quadrature radio frequency processing was ...

EMI problems for frequency hopping communication sets

1999 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility (IEEE Cat. No.99EX147), 2003
To combat electromagnetic interference and to cope with jamming conditions of communication systems, in crowded radio frequency environments, the approach in radio system design is slowly directed towards frequency hopping radio sets. This paper includes features of frequency hopping sets and limitations in MIL-STD-462 towards EMC measurements/testing ...

An Anticipative Adaptive Array for Frequency-Hopping Communications

MILCOM 1987 - IEEE Military Communications Conference - Crisis Communications: The Promise and Reality, 1987
Adaptive antenna array processing and wideband frequency hopping are two of the most powerful methods for providing interference rejection in military communication systems. However, for the full exploitation of the theoretical processing gain achievable when these two methods are combined, frequency compensation is required.

Jamming Performance of Frequency-Hopped Communication Systems with Nonuniform Hopping Distributions

1990
Abstract : This report presents an analysis of the jamming performance of frequency-hopped communication systems in which the user-signal hops according to a nonuniform distribution across the available hopping bandwidth. Keywords: Jamming performance, Nonuniform frequency hopping, Continuous and discrete, Frequency hopping, Satellite communication ...
