Tracking of Frequency Hopped Spread Spectrum Signals in Adverse Environments

MILCOM 1982 - IEEE Military Communications Conference - Progress in Spread Spectrum Communications, 1982
Tracking requirements for a frequency hopped spread spectrum system with a view to application in mobile radio are investigated. Models characterizing Rician fading and multiple access or jamming environments are used to formulate signal detection probabilities. These determine the mean time to loss of lock.

An Improved Central Frequency Estimation Method for Frequency-Hopping Signal

2019 IEEE International Conference on Power, Intelligent Computing and Systems (ICPICS), 2019
Time-frequency analysis is the major method to estimate the central frequency of frequency hopping signals. There is always a trade-off between computational complexity and estimation precision. An approach based on frequency difference and one-dimensional non-linear filter has been proposed.

An Improved Algorithm of Parameters Estimation for Frequency-Hopping Signal

2013
In view of the problem of S-transform that the width of the window shortens quickly with the increase of frequency, and the performance of parameter estimation of FH (Frequency-Hopping) decline, an improved algorithm based on asymmetric window is proposed.

Interference cancellation for enhanced detection of frequency hopped signals

ICASSP '86. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005
It is well known that a prewhitening filter, or interference canceller can significantly enhance the detectability of a wideband signal received in the presence of narrowband interference. For example, an adaptive prewhitening filter using the Widrow LMS algorithm has been shown to provide greatly improved performance in wideband direct-sequence (DS ...

Likelihood-ratio detection of frequency-hopped signals

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1996
The optimum system for intercepting frequency-hopped signals uses a channelized receiver and a likelihood-ratio test (LRT). Previous results on the performance of the optimum system have been based on Gaussian assumptions, which are generally valid for transmissions having large time-bandwidth areas.

Time-frequency properties of extended quadratic congruential frequency hop signals

International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2003
Frequency-hop pulse train signals, used in applications such as coherent multiuser or multibeam echo location, must be selected on the basis of good time-frequency characteristics in both auto- and cross-ambiguity domains. Toward this end, a class of frequency-hop signals is developed on the basis of an extension of the theory of quadratic congruences.
