Large-signal theory of the effect of dispersive propagation on the intensity modulation response of semiconductor lasers [PDF]
We have derived an exact large-signal theory of propagation in a dispersive fiber of an optical wave with sinusoidal amplitude and frequency modulation. This has been applied to the study of large-signal direct-modulation of semiconductor lasers.

An experimental study of intermodulation effects in an atomic fountain frequency standard [PDF]
The short-term stability of passive atomic frequency standards, especially in pulsed operation, is often limited by local oscillator noise via intermodulation effects.

On the frequency modulation of VLF emissions
Abstract. The VLF-wave frequency modulation efficiency as a function of magnetosphere plasma parameters under the weak pitch-angle diffusion regime is studied. The study is based on the VLF growth-rate modulation both in the magnetosphere equatorial plane and after integrating along the magnetic field line.

Hardware Trojan with Frequency Modulation [PDF]
The use of third-party IP cores in implementing applications in FPGAs has given rise to the threat of malicious alterations through the insertion of hardware Trojans. To address this threat, it is important to predict the way hardware Trojans are built and to identify their weaknesses.

Frequency Modulated Raman Spectroscopy
The coupling of plasmonic and mechanical properties at the nanoscale is of great potential for the development of next generation devices capable to detect weak forces, mass changes, minute displacements and temperature-induced effects. Both the transduction of mechanical motion to the scattered light fields in term of polarization or intensity ...

A Low Inrush Current Pre-Charging Strategy of M3C with Improved Nearest Level Modulation
The modular multilevel matrix converter (M3C) can perform AC/AC conversion directly. However, M3C operation often requires a pre-charging process, which can be challenging due to the need for fast pre-charging with low inrush current.

Maximizing precision over extended unambiguous range for TOF range imaging systems [PDF]
The maximum unambiguous range for time-of-flight range imaging systems is inversely proportional to the chosen modulation frequency. However, increasing the unambiguous range by decreasing the modulation frequency will generally also degrade the range ...

This paper proposes a novel automotive radar waveform involving the theory behind M-ary frequency shift key (MFSK) radar systems. Along with the MFSK theory, coding schemes are studied to provide a solution to mutual interference.
