Reconfigurable phase-locked loops (PLLs) present the advantage of fast-frequency acquisition combined with narrow-noise bandwidth, since their parameters can be dynamically adjusted. High-frequency PLLs are generally implemented by means of analog circuits which are not easily reconfigured during operation.

Frequency-Reconfigurable Circularly Polarized Omnidirectional Antenna

A concept of frequency-reconfigurable circularly polarized (CP) antenna with omnidirectional radiation characteristics is introduced. The antenna is based on a center-fed circular patch with shorting vias, surrounded by three arc-shaped arms. Omnidirectional CP is attained through its two orthogonal radiators with a quadrature phase difference.

Frequency-Reconfigurable Monopole Antennas

A novel coplanar-waveguide (CPW) bandpass filter using short-circuit slotlines and varactor diodes is introduced. This bandpass filter, when integrated with a CPW wideband antenna, produces frequency agility with a wideband mode and a continuous narrowband mode.

A frequency reconfigurable slot antenna

This paper proposed a frequency reconfigurable CPW center-fed slot antenna. Four pin-diodes are utilized to switch the length of the slot. By tuning the different pairs of diodes on or off, three resonant frequency bands can be obtained. The simulated and measured results validate this concept.
