Frequency Regulation From Electrified Railway
IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2022With the improvement of traffic electrification, the coupling between power and transportation systems becomes more and more intensified. In this paper, electrified railway is firstly introduced into power system to support frequency regulation. A novel frequency regulation framework consisting of day-ahead capacity estimation, frequency control ...

Synthetic CAISO Frequency Regulation Signal
2020 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting (PESGM), 2020The balancing of demand and supply in the electric power grid is a crucial element to grid reliability. While this balancing is typically provided by conventional power plants, with spinning generators, distributed energy resources (DER) and electric vehicles (EVs) pose a great potential to provide such service.

A Precision Audio-Frequency Voltage Regulator
Instrumentation Science & Technology, 1971Abstract : A source of precisely known alternating voltages is described. The output remains constant to within 0.1% for variation of plus or minus 40% in the input voltage (frequencies between 30 Hz and 4 kHz). The principle of operation is based on negative feedback, using a light-emitting diode and photosensitive resistor to control the gain.

Allocation of frequency regulation services
DRPT2000. International Conference on Electric Utility Deregulation and Restructuring and Power Technologies. Proceedings (Cat. No.00EX382), 2002A novel concept for directly quantifying the value of frequency regulation services of individual generators is proposed in this paper. Individual generator dynamics are explicitly incorporated into the optimisation problem as constraints, which allowed the frequency fluctuations to be also directly monitored and controlled. The approach eliminates the
