Flight frequency regulation and its temporal implications

Transport Policy, 2022
In this study, four distinct approaches for flight frequency regulation are investigated with the objective to mitigate network congestion. The approaches differ in the way how a specific number of daily flights on a route is determined: (1) directly regulating the number of flights, (2) defining an average air traffic flow management (ATFM) delay ...

Frequency modulated switching regulator

1979 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1979
A novel switching regulator power supply is described which uses frequency modulation to accomplish duty factor control. The circuit resembles a choke-fed dc-dc converter. A distinguishing feature is that the output transformer is designed purposely to saturate.

Frequency Regulation by Electric Vehicle

2018 International Conference on Current Trends towards Converging Technologies (ICCTCT), 2018
Electric vehicles (EVs), connected to the grid, acts as a distributed load or distributed storage. Integration of EVs into microgrid is able to provide many services like ancillary services, active power control, reactive power compensation and specially frequency regulation.

Frequency encoding in renal blood flow regulation

American Journal of Physiology-Regulatory, Integrative and Comparative Physiology, 2005
With a model of renal blood flow regulation, we examined consequences of tubuloglomerular feedback (TGF) coupling to the myogenic mechanism via voltage-gated Ca channels. The model reproduces the characteristic oscillations of the two mechanisms and predicts frequency and amplitude modulation of the myogenic oscillation by TGF.

Smart Induction Motor Variable Frequency Drives for Primary Frequency Regulation

IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, 2020
This article proposes an induction motor variable frequency drive to investigate its potential in handling smart grid's frequency. This can thus mitigate the grid reliance on expensive power plants. To this end, a primary frequency controller is presented enabling the drive to reduce its power in proportion to grid frequency drop.

High frequency switching regulator techniques

1978 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1978
The design and performance of non-resonant switching regulators operating at frequencies above 300kHz are discussed. The circuit arrangements and performance characteristics for a 150W, 600kHz inverter, a 25W, 300kHz multi-output quasisquarewave converter, a 2W, 600kHz buck-boost converter, and a 200W, 300kHz boost converter are presented.

Unit Commitment With Primary Frequency Regulation Constraints

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2005
Summary form only given. The unit commitment problem with tertiary reserve requirements has been broadly studied. Such reserves, when needed, are centrally deployed with relatively slow time constants of the order of minutes. In contrast, the scheduling of units offering primary frequency regulation reserve deployable in a decentralized manner within ...

Bad Regulation: High-Frequency Trading

2015
As we saw in Chapter 8, the global financial crisis ignited interest in the regulation of short selling on the grounds that it led, among other things, to market collapse and the bankruptcy of some companies. Since 2010, however, interest has shifted to high-frequency trading (HFT), with calls mounting to regulate this style of trading on several ...

Autonomous regulation of stem cell frequency

Experimental Hematology, 2000
Abstract Lineage restricted growth factors regulate peripheral blood cell homeostasis. However, mechanisms that affect the frequency of primitive stem cells with long term proliferative potential remain largely unknown. We have shown that stem cell numbers in DBA/2 (D2) mice are higher than in C57BL/6 (B6) mice.

A wide frequency-regulated precision OCXO

2009 IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium Joint with the 22nd European Frequency and Time forum, 2009
High precision OCXO based on SC cut overtone crystals can show very high frequency stability and aging. However, its frequency regulation range by voltage control is not wide. When high precision OCXO is used as the standard of precise controllable measuring instruments, especially the precision slave VCOCXO, in allusion to widen frequency comparison ...
