Sensitivity Analysis of the Frequency Response of a Piecewise Linear System in a Frequency Island

Journal of Vibration and Control, 2004
In this paper, we analyze the frequency response of a piecewise linear suspension system. Dynamical characteristics of the suspension will suddenly change when its relative displacement exceeds a clearance. Piecewise linear characteristics occur, for example, wherever we use stoppers to prevent the system from excessive relative displacement.

Frequency response analysis

2018
Transformers can be treated as a time-invariant system which can be characterized by its response to the Dirac's delta function. This impulse response is completely unique and should remain so over the system life. Therefore, it can be used as a kind of indicator to check if the internal compartments, elements or parameters have physically changed ...

Time–Frequency Analysis of the Impulse Response

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2019
The impulse response is a key function for the analysis and design of systems, therefore understanding its properties is a fundamental problem. To investigate the nonstationary structure of the impulse response, we derive its time–frequency representation both in the Wigner and smoothed Wigner distribution domains.

Frequency response analysis of slot coating

AIChE Journal, 2010
AbstractFrequency responses to the slot die coating process is analyzed using empirical modal analysis to predict the effects of periodic process disturbances such as gap oscillation and variations in vacuum pressure, web velocity, and flow rate. A type of empirical modal analysis known as an experimental modal approach was used, and an oscillator ...

Frequency Response Analysis

2020
This chapter will introduce the concept of frequency response analysis. We will examine how analog circuits do not behave in the same manner for all frequencies. We will examine how performing Laplace Transform on time domain equations results in frequency domain equations that allow us to study the frequency dependent behaviour of analog circuits.

Evaluation methods of frequency response analysis

2018 International Interdisciplinary PhD Workshop (IIPhDW), 2018
Reliable work of transformers in the power system affects the efficiency of power supplies to consumers. Each transformer should be subjected to periodic diagnostic tests in order to detect damage or prevent the development of defects, which may lead to excluding unit from operation.

Frequency-Response Analysis of Torsional Dynamics

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2004
This paper introduces a frequency-domain approach for investigation of the phenomenon of torsional dynamics. The Nyquist criterion is adopted by the proposed method to identify stability regions with respect to torsional oscillations. This paper also introduces two performance indices to evaluate torsional dampings and propensity of the system to ...

Frequency response modeling for device analysis

IEEE 2002 28th Annual Conference of the Industrial Electronics Society. IECON 02, 2003
In many industrial activities, the assessment of the good condition of the devices involved in these activities is an important issue. The condition assessment is usually carried out taking some measurements of the device and postprocessing them somehow.

Design sensitivity analysis of structural frequency response

4th Symposium on Multidisciplinary Analysis and Optimization, 1992
This note provides an improved method to the modal superposition method for calculating frequency response sensitivities. It combines the mode- acceleration method with the Ritz minimization technique to improve the modal approximation accuracy. In addition, an iteration scheme is used to further enhance the result.
