PARK(ing) time–How park deficiency affects the biological clock in a Drosophila model of Parkinson's disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

Low and high frequency model of three phase transformer by frequency response analysis measurement

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2018
The behavior analysis of the transformer is usually achieved by the frequency response analysis (FRA), which is obtained by the application of a very low AC voltage in over a wide frequency range.

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Dynamic Characteristics and Vibration Behavior of SKL-15 Rail Fastening Clip in High-Speed Railway Systems

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Current research on the vibration characteristics of fastener clips primarily employs modal experiments combined with finite element simulations; however, limited attention has been given to the dynamic vibration behavior of clips during actual train ...

ANALYSIS OF RUNOFF BY FREQUENCY RESPONSE METHOD

open access: yesDoboku Gakkai Ronbunshu, 1988
The existence of dead time and delay time is recognized in one-component input-output system response. These two effects should not be regarded as identical. Various reports have been given on delay time over a long time as an important concept to explain the mechanism of rainfall-runoff process, that is, concentration time of flood.

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Supercapacitor Model with Charge-Dependent Parameters Based on Experimental Frequency Response

open access: yesSensors
The characterization of supercapacitors (SCs), particularly electric double-layer capacitors (EDLCs), is useful for the design of energy management systems.

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

A Novel Adaptive Multiple-Image-Feature Fusion Method for Transformer Winding Fault Diagnosis

open access: yesEng
Frequency response analysis (FRA) is recognized as an effective method in power transformer winding fault diagnosis. However, the traditional numerical index methods focus on the overall features of FRA curves, making it difficult to capture subtle ...
