Finite frequency selective surface modelling

open access: yesThe 8th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP 2014), 2014
In this paper we describe the development of an electromagnetic modelling technique to investigate edge illumination effects on finite size FSS performance. The work extends the commonly used unit cell approach and models the FSS as a linear array with Gaussian beam excitation.

Tuning Technique for Active FSS Arrays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A novel biasing technique is described for active frequency selective slot arrays. The bandpass response can be switched between transmitting and reflecting modes, or tuned over a predetermined frequency range using two different biasing circuit ...

Study of Printing Errors in Digitally Fabricated FSS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Low cost fabrication techniques might give rise to defects in electromagnetic structures. This paper investigates the detrimental effect of producing frequency selective screens with differing percentages of absent square loop elements. It is shown that

Frequency Selective Surface With Two Quasi-Independent Notch Frequencies

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
A double-layer frequency selective surface (FSS) built on FR4 substrate exhibiting two notch frequencies in the 0-10-GHz range is introduced. Recently published examples demonstrate that further research needs to be undergone for obtaining separate ...

Absorptive/Transmissive Frequency Selective Surface With Wide Absorption Band

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
An absorptive/transmissive frequency selective surface (ATFSS) with absorption bands at both sides of a passband is presented. Equivalent circuits of the ATFSS that consists of a lossy frequency selective surface (FSS) and a lossless FSS were modeled. To

Frequency and phase locking of laser cavity solitons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Self-localized states or dissipative solitons have the freedom of translation in systems with a homogeneous background. When compared to cavity solitons in coherently driven nonlinear optical systems, laser cavity solitons have the additional freedom of ...

Inductive Frequency Selective Surface: An Application for Dichroic Sub-Reflectors

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
An Inductive Frequency Selective Surface (IFSS) self-standing dichroic sub-reflector is presented, which allows the transmission of two frequency bands and reflection of a third band. The operating frequency of the sub-reflector is designed to work at Ku,

A frequency selective surface loaded two-layer composite for tunable microwave absorption

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2022
To obtain tunable microwave absorption, a strategy of constructing a frequency selective surface (FSS) on a two-layer composite is proposed. The designed FSS loaded two-layer composite is composed of a FSS constructed by evenly spaced circular copper ...

Guidelines for Pediatric Radiotherapy Simulation: A Report From the Children's Oncology Group Radiation Oncology Discipline

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric radiation therapy presents unique challenges compared to adult treatments, including those of immobilization, potential need for sedation, and the critical importance of accurate, reproducible positioning. Additionally, heightened attention to imaging doses is necessary to minimize long‐term toxicity in survivors.

Bandwidth in Cross Dipole Frequency Selective Surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This paper presents the implementation outcomes of the Equivalent Circuit Model (ECM) acting in conjunction with the Matrix Cascading Method (MCM) for bandwidth calculation in cross dipole Frequency Selective Surfaces (FSSs).
